Riviera Partners and Alpha Advisors Join Forces

Riviera Partners merges with Alpha Advisors

May 3, 2018 – Search firms continue to join forces. The latest: San Francisco-headquartered Riviera Partners has merged with Alpha Advisors, a boutique search firm specializing in senior information technology and quantitative talent for financial services and technology clients. Its founder and executive search veteran Jeff Campbell has joined Riviera to drive continued expansion. He will lead Riviera Partners’ new Atlanta location.

Mr. Campbell established Alpha Advisors in 2008. Before that, he led the technology and operations practice for the Fiderion Group, specializing in recruiting information technology professionals for financial services companies. He also was a principal at Heidrick & Struggles, where he served hedge fund, asset management and investment banking clients. While at Heidrick, he worked as an in-house technology recruiter at Citadel Investment Group in Chicago. In addition, Mr. Campbell was formerly the London-based director of strategic sourcing for iXL. He began his executive search career as a senior associate at Korn Ferry.

“Jeff has a proven track record of outstanding service delivery and decades of expertise in recruiting senior technology executives,” said Will Hunsinger, CEO of Riviera Partners. “I was incredibly impressed with what he achieved building Alpha Advisors and I am confident Jeff’s addition to our executive search practice will further accelerate our growth.”

Two Faith-Based Search Firms Merge
FaithSearch Partners, a search firm for faith-based organizations, has merged with Halftime Talent Solutions, a recruitment firm that serves mission-motivated non-profit and for-profit clients. Based in Dallas, the new firm will operate under the FaithSearch Partners brand.

“Riviera’s data-driven approach to search is unparalleled,” said Mr. Campbell. “The opportunity to join their platform and help expand their business into new geographies and industry verticals was a unique opportunity too compelling to pass up.”

Expanding into Atlanta makes sense for Riviera Partners. The Atlanta market is ripe with opportunity from both an HR talent and enterprise perspective, said the firm, with 29 Fortune 1000 companies. In addition, over 75 percent of the Fortune 1000 have a presence in the Atlanta area, and the region hosts roughly 1,250 multinational corporations. The Atlanta market is also home to companies such as Coca-Cola Co., Home Depot, UPS, Delta Air Lines and Turner Broadcasting.

Technology Veterans

Riviera Partners is a global recruiting firm specializing in the technology industry. The firm provides clients with optimal placements by combining recruiter interactions and experience with data-driven findings about candidates. It has other offices in Palo Alto, Los Angeles and New York. The firm has recruited for key executive roles at Pinterest, Postmates, Tinder, Twilio and partnered with venture-backed concerns, including Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia, Benchmark, Accel, Menlo Ventures, KPCB, Greylock and General Catalyst.

hrQ and Revolution Advisors Merge
Executive search and professional services firm hrQ and human capital consulting specialist Revolution Advisors have joined forces. The firms will move forward operating under the hrQ banner and platform, led by managing partners Kha Le, Molly McCoy, Kathy Rapp and Brian Wilkerson.

In March, Riviera Partners named Mr. Hunsinger as its CEO. He has been part of the Riviera team for two years, serving as chief operating officer before his promotion. During that time, he has helped drive significant expansion of Riviera’s executive search practice as well as launching R[2] (R Squared), Riviera’s marketplace for software engineering talent that combines data science, machine learning and recruiter curation to match talent.

“Riviera Partners has experienced significant growth over the past two years,” said Michael Morell, co-founder and managing partner of Riviera Partners. “Will’s leadership and operational expertise will allow us to capitalize on this momentum, continue scaling our business and ensure our recruiting professionals have the support and freedom to focus on exceptional service delivery to our clients.”

“Technology, data science and machine learning have the potential to transform recruiting and deliver an exponentially better experience for our clients and candidates,” said Ali Behnam, co-founder and managing partner of Riviera Partners. “Will’s vision for how to unlock that potential and his experience growing companies is exactly what we need to take Riviera’s talent platform to the next level.”
