Randstad North America Appoints CHRO

November 2, 2020 – Randstad North America has named Bob Lopes as its new chief human resources officer. He is based out of the company’s Tampa, FL, office.

Mr. Lopes has served as an executive at Randstad’s sister company Randstad Sourceright for six years serving as North America group president. At Randstad North America, he will develop the company’s internal human resources practice and oversee all aspects of human capital, including recruitment, talent management, employee engagement and organizational development.

Mr. Lopes has more than 35 years of global experience leading private, mid-stage and public technology and services businesses in outsourcing, consulting and HR-related services. In his new position, he will work to commercialize Randstad’s human resources practice to adapt to the changing employment landscape and support the organization’s overall goals by tethering human resources strategy to revenue generation. Mr. Lopes will also continue Randstad’s focus on diversity and inclusion in all areas of the business, including recruitment and career development.

Recent Leadership Change

Randstad Sourceright recently appointed current EMEA managing director Michael Smith to the role of global CEO of Randstad Sourceright. He will assume the duties of current CEO Rebecca Henderson, effective Jan. 1. Mr. Smith has 15 years of experience in the talent acquisition industry, working in operational and leadership roles across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. He currently manages the dual responsibilities of leading Randstad Sourceright EMEA and the Randstad UK operating company out of his post in Amsterdam.

To replace Mr. Smith in Randstad UK’s office, Victoria Short will become the CEO of Randstad UK, effective Jan.1. Ms. Short began her career with Randstad over 20 years ago in Randstad’s business support division in the U.K. After almost a decade growing this business, she oversaw the Randstad care and student support businesses, later expanding her leadership to include the education portfolio.
