Mercuri Urval Expands Search Staff

May 27, 2025 – Stockholm, Sweden-based executive search firm Mercuri Urval (MU) has expanded with the addition of Anne Zhang as partner and director. “We’re thrilled to welcome Anne back to the MU family,” said Julia Larsen-Disney, director and team leader MU China. “Her extensive expertise in leadership and talent management, combined with her deep knowledge of the Greater China region, will undoubtedly strengthen our position in this key market and inspire our team to achieve even greater success.”
“Having worked with Anne for many years previously, I am very happy to welcome her back to MU and to further strengthening our excellent APAC team,” said Karl-Johan Kronberg, head of business area.
“Anne is a valued colleague who has been deeply missed. I am so happy to welcome her back, knowing she brings new ideas and contributions based on her recent experiences,” said Richard Moore, CEO. “Wishing her every success on her return. Please join us in giving Anne a warm welcome back home to MU.”
Ms. Zhang returns to MU after three years as managing director at Boyd & Moore, an executive search firm in Greater China where she led the region in delivering high-quality leadership and talent solutions across various industries. Her experience spans executive search, leadership assessment, and coaching, within the Asia-Pacific market.
Ms. Zhang previously spent 12 years with MU, holding various key roles, including partner, director, team leader, and group director in the Shanghai office. During her time with the firm, she became known for her strategic approach to leadership advisory and executive search, and for her deep understanding of the unique challenges facing European companies in Asia. She was instrumental in developing MU’s teams and building strong client relationships across the region.
Rejoining MU, Ms. Zhang will focus on bringing the firm’s tested and proven leadership advisory and executive search services to our clients, with a focus on the manufacturing industry.

“Leaving MU was never easy – after all, where else could I find such a remarkable combination of leadership acquisitions and leadership advisory expertise,” said Ms. Zhang. “Having been away for a few years, I’ve gained different experiences and perspectives, and I’m genuinely excited to rejoin this exceptional company. While it feels like I never truly left, I did miss the science-based methodology and global approach that define MU. I look forward to contributing once again and collaborating with all of you to drive continued success.”
