HARTZ Search Places VP of Revenue Cycle for Southeast Georgia Health System

January 23, 2025 – After an extensive national search, Charlotte, NC-based HARTZ Search has placed Julie Floyd as the vice president of revenue cycle at Southeast Georgia Health System. The search was led by chief of staff Gabby Ross, search consultant Macy Thompson, and CEO Mike Hartz.

Ms. Floyd joins Southeast Georgia Health System from UNC Healthcare, where she held the role of system vice president, professional revenue operations, and previously the system executive director, physician revenue cycle. While at UNC Healthcare, she was the leader responsible for system-wide management of all physician revenue across 18 entities, including Ambulatory Surgery Centers (physician/hospital) and Federally Qualified Health Centers. Prior to UNC, Ms. Floyd was the associate chief revenue officer at University of Kentucky Healthcare in Lexington, KY.

In her new position with Southeast Georgia Health System, Ms. Floyd will develop and manage policies and procedures to optimize all facets of revenue cycle operations. She will develop the vision and strategies to achieve best-in-class, compliant revenue cycle results. Ms. Floyd interacts with clinical and business leaders across the organization to ensure optimal financial and patient experience results while serving as the revenue cycle executive for applicable financial system transitions and merger and acquisition activity.

Southeast Georgia Health System is a not-for-profit healthcare system with multiple locations and services. The health system has served residents and visitors to the Golden Isles and surrounding areas of southeast Georgia since 1888. Headquartered in Brunswick, the health system serves the needs of residents from six counties in southeast Georgia – Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Glynn, McIntosh, and Wayne.

Ms. Ross joined the Hartz Search team in September of 2022 and works out of the Charlotte office. She is driven by Hartz Search’s commitment to honesty and quality service and uses her hospitality background to provide efficient service to client and candidate partners.

Ms. Thompson connects healthcare systems and hospitals with senior-level talent. She is responsible for finding prospects in the market and guiding individuals through each stage in the search process. Ms. Thompson has been with Hartz Search since 2020, where she began as an executive search coordinator. Since then, she has been a contributing factor to over 40 executive placements.

Mr. Hartz is president and CEO of the firm. His diverse background in executive and physician search has given him unique experience in working with executives and physicians within the healthcare and higher education industries. During his 15 years in executive search, he has recruited over 200 executives and physicians nationwide. Mr. Hartz has used his background in customer service and business operations as well as his knowledge of national healthcare market trends in recruitment, practice management, and physician services to solidify his track record in recruiting for healthcare systems, facilities, and physician practices ranging in size from small rural to large medical centers.

Ms. Shim joins OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center from Adventist Healthcare where she rose through leadership over the last 13 years. Most recently, she was the president of Fort Washington Medical Center, where she led the hospital from a Leap Frog F to Leap Frog A hospital in five years while expanding hospital capacity during a pandemic.
