HARTZ Search Recruits President of OSF HealthCare, Saint Joseph Medical Center

December 19, 2024 – After an extensive national search, Charlotte, NC-based HARTZ Search has recruited Eunmee Shim as the president of OSF HealthCare, Saint Joseph Medical Center in Peoria, IL. The search was led by chief of staff Gabby Ross, former partner Carol Maxwell, and CEO Mike Hartz. “As president, Eunmee will lead OSF St. Joseph in aligning with the overall strategy of OSF HealthCare,” said Carol Friesen, CEO for OSF HealthCare’s eastern region. “She will be responsible for directing all internal operations and helping OSF evolve when necessary to ensure that high-quality and cost-effective healthcare continues to be delivered to the patients we are blessed to serve. Shim will carry forward a culture of collaboration and integration that provides a safe Mission Partner and patient care environment. She will continue to embrace the Catholic healthcare heritage and support the Sisters’ Mission of serving with the greatest care and love.”

Ms. Shim joins OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center from Adventist Healthcare where she rose through leadership over the last 13 years. Most recently, she was the president of Fort Washington Medical Center, where she led the hospital from a Leap Frog F to Leap Frog A hospital in five years while expanding hospital capacity during a pandemic. Before being promoted to president in 2019, she was the senior vice president of ambulatory networks and chief strategy officer, where she led Baldridge. She has Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Sahmyook University in Seoul, Korea and a master of science in nursing informatics from Columbia University School of Nursing in New York City.

In her new position with OSF, Ms. Shim will direct all internal operations of the hospital/medical center while developing and implementing short-term tactics within long-term strategies that provide high-quality and cost-effective health care. She will carry forward a culture of collaboration and integration that provides a safe mission partner and patient care environment.

HARTZ Search Helps Fill CFO and CEO Roles for Roper St. Francis Healthcare

Mr. Hartz is president and CEO of the firm. During his 15 years in executive search, he has recruited over 200 executives and physicians nationwide. Mr. Hartz has used his background in customer service and business operations as well as his knowledge of national healthcare market trends in recruitment, practice management, and physician services to solidify his track record in recruiting for healthcare systems, facilities, and physician practices ranging in size from small rural to large medical centers.

Ms. Ross joined the Hartz Search team in September of 2022 and works out of the Charlotte office. She is driven by Hartz Search’s commitment to honesty and quality service and uses her hospitality background to provide efficient service to client and candidate partners.

Ms. Maxwell brings 30 years of experience working with executive leadership to solve business issues through working with their teams to reach their potential. She has a depth of in healthcare service organizations, including large academic medical centers, community hospitals, for-profit and not-for-profit as well as faith-based health systems. She left Hartz Search in November.
