Hanold Associates Recruits CHRO of THOR Industries

April 3, 2024 – CHROs have become critical stakeholders in defining the strategy of a company. Hanold Associates HR & Diversity Executive Search recently recruited Michele McDermott as chief human resources officer of THOR Industries, Inc. in Elkhart, IN. Lisa YaeSarah Kennedy-Sulahry, and Meg McElroy led the search.

Ms. McDermott brings more than 25 years of experience in human resources leadership with large-scale, global enterprises and publicly traded companies. Most recently, she served as executive vice president and CHRO of Hub Group. Her previous leadership roles include positions of increasing responsibility at Assurance, National Express Group and United Service Companies.

In this role with THOR, Ms. McDermott will be responsible for the company’s human resources strategy and operations; talent management; inclusion; safety; and compensation and benefits. She will join the executive leadership team reporting to Mr. Martin.

Jason Hanold, CEO and managing partner, founded the search firm in 2010. Previously, he served as a managing director with Russell Reynolds Associates, where he led the firm’s global human resources officer practice and was a member of the board of directors and CEO practices. Before that he held talent and recruiting positions with Whirlpool, McKinsey & Company, Deloitte, and State Farm.


Hanold Associates Recruits CHRO for Phillips 66

Ms. Kennedy-Sulahry is a partner with Hanold Associates specializing in recruiting HR executives and diversity and inclusion officers with a passion for non-profit, mission-driven and philanthropic organizations. Prior to joining Hanold Associates, she worked as a corps member with Teach For America and taught in a head start preschool classroom in the West Englewood community of Chicago.

Ms. McElroy is an associate with Hanold Associates and focuses on recruiting human resources and diversity, equity, and inclusion leaders across multiple industries and functions. Previously, she was director of recruitment and selection for Northwestern Mutual. There, she grew from developing and expanding the organization’s campus program to recruiting full-time professionals in the financial services industry.
