Hanold Associates Recruits CHRO for Phillips 66

October 31, 2023 – Jason Hanold, Sarah KennedyKatrina Maione, and Eleanor Tetreault of Hanold Associates HR & Diversity Executive Search have assisted in the recruitment of Andrez Carberry as senior vice president and chief human resources officer to Phillips 66, a Houston, TX-based diversified energy company. “We are excited to have Andrez join Phillips 66 at such an important time for our company,” said Mark Lashier, president and CEO of Phillips 66. “Andrez has had a strong career rooted in values and mission-driven work, much like Phillips 66.”

Mr. Carberry has extensive experience in human resources, labor and employment law, corporate social responsibility (ESG), risk management, compliance and litigation across several industries. He most recently served as head of global human resources at John Deere, where led a global team of 1,200 HR, labor relations and business partners supporting all business units at 150 locations. While at Deere, Mr. Carberry was responsible for several HR practice areas including: Talent acquisition; diversity, equity & inclusion; strategy; compliance; data and insights; and technology. He was also the global head of HR for Deere’s $30 billion Ag & Turf division and 30,000 employees.

Prior to that, Mr. Carberry served as chief region counsel at U.S. Foods, and before that was chief counsel of global labor & employment, corporate social responsibility and compliance director, North America at Avon Products, Inc. He began his legal career as assistant corporation counsel, labor & employment law division for the City of New York before serving as senior litigation and labor & employment associate for Rox Rothschild LLP.

As Phillips 66’s CHRO, Mr. Carberry will report to Mr. Lashier and help the organization achieve its strategic goals as the company starts a new chapter in its journey to be a NGL, chemicals and renewable fuels business with a robust and competitive refining, marketing and transportation portfolio. He will serve as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team and board of directors.

Mr. Hanold, CEO and managing partner, founded the search firm in 2010. Previously, he served as a managing director with Russell Reynolds Associates, where he led the firm’s global human resources officer practice and was a member of the board of directors and CEO practices. Before that he held talent and recruiting positions with Whirlpool, McKinsey & Company, Deloitte, and State Farm.

Ms. Kennedy is a partner with Hanold Associates specializing in recruiting HR executives and diversity and inclusion officers with a passion for non-profit, mission-driven and philanthropic organizations. Prior to joining Hanold Associates, she worked as a corps member with Teach For America and taught in a head start preschool classroom in the West Englewood community of Chicago.

Ms. Maione is a partner at Hanold Associates, where she focuses on the recruitment of human resource professionals across industries including learning and development, talent management, HRBP, total rewards, talent acquisition, organizational development, and diversity and inclusion.
