Fortra Search Adds Technology Recruitment Veteran

March 9, 2020 – Palo Alto, CA-based Fortra Search has expanded with the addition of Christine Williams as partner. She is an established search expert with a history of working exclusively with tech companies.

“Fortra Search is known for delivering the very best executive-level sales and business development talent to fuel growth and capitalize on market opportunity,” said Andy Grosso, founding partner at Fortra Search. “Having worked with Christine for two decades, I’m confident that she’ll bring the right mix of technical, analytical, relationship and networking skills to every search. Christine is a technology industry veteran with a broad network and deep relationships with both candidates and companies,” he said. “I believe that our clients will enjoy working with her and will be pleased with the results of each search she works on.”

Ms. Williams joins Fortra Search with deep and diverse experience in technology. She spent four years as an executive recruiter at Riviera Partners, a San Francisco-based search firm focused on tech leadership roles. At Riviera, she focused on searching a diverse candidate pool to effectively place technology leaders.  Her list of clients include Conviva, Datadog, DoorDash, Reltio, SendGrid and Roblox.

Ms. Williams started her career in customer advocacy and engagement roles, where she perfected critical client service techniques. She gained product management and partner engagement expertise during her tenure at successful companies such as Logitech, Mpath/HearMe and Autonet Mobile. Ms. Williams also served as director and client engagement leader at Palo Alto Venture Architects where she gained a deep understanding of the critical nature of revenue-generating hires for venture-backed companies.

“I believe the right sales and business development leadership is one of the most critical factors in a company,” said Ms. Williams. “Matching highly-skilled men and women to the right opportunity, at the right company, at the right stage is rewarding for both candidates and companies. And, as a recruiter, it’s also rewarding to see the results these individuals deliver in their roles. I look forward to working with the partners, clients and candidates at Fortra.”

Boutique Firm

Fortra Search is a boutique firm specialized in the specific niche of the venture-funded and private equity technology market in San Francisco. The firm focuses exclusively on revenue-generating sales and business development leaders for private and public technology companies. Fortra has notable placements in security, networking and Wi-Fi, mobile, video analytics, big data, eCommerce, SaaS, app development, consumer and enterprise software. The firm has placed senior sales leaders in top firms including PayPal, WePay, Bonfire, Rapid7, FinancialForce, Avangate, CloudMondo, Elastic and Zuora.

Mr. Grosso, who has a background of 11 years in executive search and previous experience in technology, specifically enterprise software sales and sales management at both pre-IPO and public companies, founded Fortra in 2013. Prior to Fortra Search, Mr. Grosso gathered eight years of executive search experience as a partner with Riviera Partners.

“There is no magic, no miracle matching technology and no one-size-fits-all search methodology,” Mr. Grosso said. “Finding the right candidate requires real work, a deep understanding of the need and relationships with qualified candidates. We know that landing the right sales leader can be the difference between the growth or failure of a company. We work harder because we want to make hiring a sales leader a strategic win for the clients and candidates we serve.”
