Erevena Opens Office in Stockholm
December 3, 2020 – London-based executive search firm Erevena has expanded in northern Europe with the opening of a new office in Stockholm, Sweden. Jonas Helgesson has joined as a partner to focus on growing the business in Northern Europe, in response to increasing demand from clients such as Peakon, Puzzel, Unomaly, Pipedrive and Nectarine Health.
“We are delighted to welcome Jonas to Erevena, he brings fantastic experience in Northern Europe and will further strengthen our team at Erevena,” said Dan Hyde, CEO of Erevena. “We already work with a number of the key funds in the region and have a number of significant clients locally. This appointment gives our clients the strengths of an international firm alongside the knowledge and cultural understanding of a local firm.”
Mr. Helgesson most recently headed 360Leaders’ Northern European operations out of Stockholm, supporting companies such as Pleo, Einride, Natural Cycles, Klarna, Tink, Octovo and UpCloud, with their board-level and senior management hires. He has spent his entire career supporting high growth businesses and helping them expand in existing and new markets. “With the help of his passion for technology and the digital space, he has built a track record of work spanning from advising disruptive tech start-ups, to supporting large corporates through their digital transformation,” Erevena said.
“I believe Erevena, with its excellent track record, focus on quality and extensive international reach, will be a very important partner for growth companies based in Northern Europe as they look to attract game changing senior talent to help them scale in local and international markets,” said Mr. Helgesson.
Sweden is the 16th-richest country in terms of gross domestic product per capita. The service industry accounts for about 85 percent of jobs in the area. The near total absence of heavy industry (and fossil fuel power plants) makes Stockholm one of the world’s cleanest cities. The last decade has seen a significant number of jobs created in high technology companies there. Large employers include IBM, Ericsson and Electrolux. Stockholm is Sweden’s financial center. Major Swedish banks, such as Nordea, Swedbank, Handelsbanken and Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, are headquartered there, as are the major insurance companies Skandia, Folksam and Trygg-Hansa.
Technology Recruiting
Erevena, which was founded in 2003, is a technology-focused executive search firm that partners with consumer and enterprise brands on innovation, venturing and digital transformation. The firm has recently filled senior positions for a number of companies in the technology sector, including Qinec, Cloud66, RES Software, Prodigy Finance, LS Retail, LLamasoft and Dashlane.
In July, Erevena promoted James Ryan to the position of partner. He leads the firm’s CTO practice in Europe and has played a key role in growing Erevena’s expertise in engineering, data science and technical product leadership. “The last few years have seen the CTO practice grow significantly through continually raising the bar around the advice we can offer and network of technical leaders we can access, and I’m delighted to see James promoted. 2020 has certainly tested our assumptions and forced innovation in our own practices, and we look forward to what the next period of growth brings,” said Sam Wilkins, senior partner.
