Cejka Expands Physician Search Division

February 24, 2016 – Cejka Search, a physician, advanced practice and healthcare focused executive search firm, has expanded its management team with the addition of four industry executives who will serve as regional vice presidents for its physician search division.

The expansion is in response to growing demand from a broad-based coalition of clients, including academic medicine concerns, hospitals and integrated health systems, managed care organizations, medical groups and other organizations involved in health and wellness, as well as pharmaceutical companies and venture capital firms.

  • John Elffers brings a long background in healthcare business management and healthcare recruitment. With 25-years spent in health systems sales and customer service, he will serve clients in Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Previously, he was vice president of business development at Community Hospitalists, Physician Staffing and Martin Healthcare Group.
  • Jill Hickey, who will lead searches for clients in Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, and Arkansas, brings a diverse background in recruitment, healthcare business operations and sales. She is a recipient of numerous awards for her community involvement and advocacy of women and previously led Express Pros of the Northlands.
  • Thomas Hoecker brings decades of healthcare executive recruiting expertise. At Cejka, he will lead searches in the Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and California markets. Previously, he was president of Hoecker and Kohl, an executive search firm focused in the areas of science and engineering supporting multiple industries.
  • David Pierce has deep experience in developing innovative sourcing strategies for private healthcare employers nationwide. He will focus on North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Most recently, he was in charge of recruiting for the Office of State Human Resources in North Carolina and before that was director of recruiting for Weatherby Healthcare.

Earlier this year, Cejka named healthcare executive Joyce Tucker as an executive vice president responsible for senior level healthcare search services and recruiting consultation. During her more than 30 years as a healthcare executive, she has been responsible for healthcare administration and management, human resources, budgeting, purchasing, marketing, strategic planning and process improvements. Previously, she was VP of executive recruitment at life sciences recruiter The Chase Group. Earlier in her career, she gained search experience with B.E. Smith.
