Bryant Group Recruits Chief Development Officer for Target ALS

December 12, 2023 – Following a national search Dallas-based executive search and talent development firm Bryant Group has assisted in the recruitment of Jessica Chapman as chief development officer at Target ALS. Sarah Hempen, vice president, led the assignment. “We are thrilled to welcome Jessica Chapman to Target ALS as our chief development officer,” said Manish Raisinghani, CEO of Target ALS. “Her distinguished expertise in leading development initiatives for research-focused missions along with her profound commitment to the ALS community make her an excellent addition to our team. An experienced fundraiser in development and charitable gift-giving, Ms. Chapman brings a wealth of knowledge to the position. She spent seven years with The ALS Association, serving as their director of planned giving, senior director of individual giving, vice president of development and most recently as their vice president of mission equalities. Her fundraising helped to secure a $5 million gift, marking the largest contribution in the organization’s history from an individual donor.

In her new position, Ms. Chapman will work jointly with Mr. Raisinghani, Target ALS founder Daniel L. Doctoroff, and the board of director at Target ALS. She will serve as the primary manager for donors, the press and advisors focused on marketing and communications for all non-research or clinic-based activities.

“Raising critical dollars to advance the fight against ALS is a calling for me,” said Ms. Chapman. “I am thrilled to bring 14 years of fundraising experience to Target ALS and generate the revenue needed to revolutionize ALS research.”

Bryant Group Recruits AVP of Outreach and Innovation for Western Michigan University
Following a national search, Dallas-based executive search and talent development firm Bryant Group has placed Michael Carlton as the first associate vice president of outreach and innovation for Western Michigan University (WMU). For more than 15 years, Mr. Carlton oversaw annual giving, alumni relations, special events, and donor relations for public universities and private non-profits. He most recently served as the director of annual giving and alumni engagement for the Peabody Institute of John Hopkins University.
