Bowdoin Group Hires Three Recruiters
April 26, 2018 – Boston-based executive recruitment firm Bowdoin Group has added three veteran recruiters to its fold: Kirk Bukowski, Brad Bauer and Jeff Harris all come to the firm from the Boston office of global search firm Tatum, a Randstad company.
“We are excited to welcome Kirk, Brad and Jeff to the Bowdoin family,” said David Melville, founder and CEO of the Bowdoin Group. “They have proven skills and a reputation for success helping clients of all sizes attract and retain top talent, with particularly strong expertise and experience recruiting CFOs and other senior executives across a variety of vertical markets.”
Mr. Bukowski joins Bowdoin Group as a vice president, bringing more than 25 years’ experience in executive search and talent management consulting to the firm. Previously, he was a national managing partner at Tatum, where he was responsible for leading the North American executive search practice. Prior to that, Mr. Bukowski served as senior managing director at RHI Executive Search. In addition to his work with public and private firms, he has significant experience partnering with private equity groups, helping them hire and retain high-quality leaders.
Also joining Bowdoin as a vice president, Mr. Bauer has more than 20 years’ business and consulting experience in human capital and talent acquisition. At Tatum, Mr. Bauer was a founding partner of the executive search practice. Prior to that, he served as president and CEO at Bird Dog Executive Search. He has extensive experience working with companies of all sizes across industries, including private equity and investment banking, manufacturing and distribution, healthcare, professional services and technology development.
Business Impact
Mr. Harris joins Bowdoin Group as director, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in executive search, management consulting and sales. His last position was as principal in Tatum’s executive retained search practice. Before that, he was managing partner at Monument Executive Search, where he specialized in CFO and other senior financial leadership searches across healthcare and financial services industries.
While Bowdoin Group expects the trio’s expertise to benefit clients across industries, the new additions will focus on clients in the software, digital health, fintech and biopharma spaces. They will be working at firm’s expanding Boston office.
“We have a great opportunity in today’s market to help our clients find and recruit the executives who are most likely to drive positive business impact,” said Scott Aldsworth, chief revenue officer of Bowdoin Group. “We are confident that these three high-performing leaders will be strong contributors as we continue to grow our business.”

Last fall, Bowdoin Group named Scott Vierra as vice president and practice leader. Working closely with other executives at the firm, he was expected to initially focus on the financial services and fintech markets before eventually shifting to the firm’s software practice.
Boston and Beyond
Mr. Vierra has nearly 25 years of industry experience, with a proven track record of executive search consulting and strategic hiring planning. Previously, he was a senior member of the global talent acquisition team for research and advisory services company Gartner. Before that, he founded two executive search firms, including 75 Search Partners, a financial services executive search boutique in Boston. Mr. Vierra co-led the sale of 75 Search Partners to Heidrick & Struggles, and continued on as a partner and executive search consultant at the firm.
Mr. Melville at the time described Mr. Vierra as “a hands-on leader whose experience structuring top-tier recruiting practices will further Bowdoin’s mission to be the go-to search firm for the innovation economy.”
Founded in 1994, the Bowdoin Group specializes in leadership and strategic roles for a wide range of companies, from small firms building out their executive teams to large firms sourcing talent for rapid market expansion. With deep expertise in biopharma, digital health, fintech and financial services, and software, the firm specializes in the Greater Boston area with the ability to source talent and service companies globally.
