Allen Austin Names Global Technology Practice Leader

July 26, 2016 – Executive search firm Allen Austin has added Paul Moran as managing partner and global technology practice leader. He will be based in the firm’s Boston office.

Mr. Moran has over 25 years of experience in executive search and leadership solutions servicing clients on a variety of projects across functions, including board selection, general management, professional services, sales, marketing, finance, and engineering. In addition, he has extensive experience in the use of analytics in search, the design of ’employer marketing’ solutions and the use of advanced assessment for individual and team performance as well as in M&A support. He was recently recognized by the world’s fastest growing IT and staffing firm for ‘Innovation and Thought Leadership’ for the use of technology in executive search.

Most recently, Mr. Moran founded and led his own boutique search and leadership advisory firm, CapFuze. Immediately prior to CapFuze, he was managing partner of Boyden’s Boston office. He has also served in senior partner and practice leadership roles for other top-tier international search firms, including Korn Ferry and Heidrick & Struggles, and has completed hundreds of executive level projects in his career. He was also the vice president of management recruitment for a global venture capital concern, where he led a team responsible for executive recruitment services for the firm’s portfolio companies.

“Austin Allen is literally the only firm I found that truly had a packaged solution that did differentiate for clients,” said Mr. Moran. “In addition, it is the only firm where there is zero question that the culture permeates and I will be welcomed to both contribute and learn. That may sound like rhetoric to some because it is hard to really describe the experience.”

This announcement follows Allen Austin’s recent expansion into Cuba. The firm named search consultants Manuel Corsino and Clement Wigger to lead its growth in the region. In anticipation of Cuba experiencing robust growth in technology, telecommunications and tourism, Allen Austin’s Latin American search practice is partnering with global companies that are establishing their footprint on the island.

In May, Allen Austin also opened offices in Minneapolis, Miami, and Mexico City. With the announcement of these new offices, the firm added Ron Woessner, Chris Fryer, Manny Corsino, and John Sinders as partners.

Earlier in the year, the firm launched a new global technology practice. It is led by Rod Keller and co-led by Clement J. Wigger from the firm’s Austin, TX office and focuses on helping organizations identify, attract, develop, and retain tech talent.

Allen Austin also launched a new search practice in the life sciences and healthcare sector. Brian A. Johnston and Steve Leatherman are co-sector practice leaders. The practice is focused on critical growth areas in the sector, including pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostics / capital equipment, hospital & healthcare, ancillary services, providers & payers, supply chain, international healthcare providers, healthcare IT service providers, academic health institutions, biotech & healthcare startups, and private equity.

These additions offset the loss of managing partner Jim Thompson, Gary Payne, and Mary Campagnano, all of whom left the firm to join Odgers Berndtson in late March.
