Sheffield Haworth Expands Insurance and Technology Sector Practices

February 4, 2016 – Sheffield Haworth has added Erik Matson as managing director in its global insurance practice and John Budriss as executive director of corporate officers in the firm’s technology practice.

Mr. Matson will focus primarily on advising and execution of board, CEO and senior team mandates for clients globally. Previously, he performed senior level advisory work for Boyden, including helping to establish the firm’s insurance capability. He has extensive experience in P&C primary insurance, wholesale / broker markets, global reinsurance markets, capital markets and investment management / insurance asset management, and distribution as well as cyber intelligence / security management and sitting board experience.

Formerly, Mr. Matson was the top executive at an Allianz U.S. entity, running its P&C commercial lines businesses. Before that, he held a number of senior roles for AIG, including president – Americas. Earlier in his career, he was with the Munich Re Group in a number of P&C executive roles, including reinsurance and insurance, and was a founding member of its capital markets / insurance-linked securities business.

Mr. Budriss, a pure talent acquisition expert, brings a wealth of financial services, FinTech and market data industry expertise to his new role. He most recently ran all talent acquisition for Bloomberg and was chief human resources officer (CHRO) leading all talent / people-related activities for Bloomberg’s enterprise division. He formerly served as the global head of talent acquisition at Thomson Reuters.
