ZRG Partners Acquires Fiore Global Search
June 28, 2019 – ZRG Partners, a fast growing executive search firm, has continued its expansion with the acquisition of certain assets of executive search firm Fiore Global Search. The deal’s financial terms were undisclosed.
As part of the asset acquisition agreement, Adam Fiore, formerly the managing partner and CEO of Fiore Global Search, will be joining ZRG as a managing director within the life sciences practice area. Fiore Global Search was founded by Mr. Fiore in 2011 and has completed hundreds of C-suite, VP, and medical director roles for Fortune 500 pharmaceutical and mid-sized, global biotechnology companies.
“Adam and his team have strong expertise in the drug safety and pharmacovigilance areas, which will be leveraged within our global life science practice,” said Larry Hartmann, CEO of ZRG. “We have been impressed with how Fiore Global has built entire drug safety teams for several top global pharmaceutical companies, including Novartis and Bristol Myers-Squibb. He will be an important part of our global practice in life sciences and adding this area of expertise is quite exciting for us.”
“I am looking forward to being a part of the industry-leading ZRG life sciences team,” Mr. Fiore said. “Not only am I excited about expanding my coverage with the team’s leadership that represents some of the best in our space, but I am also thrilled to be able to provide my clients with the powerful Z Score tools that are second to none in the industry,” he said. “I will be well equipped to better serve my clients as I take the next steps in my career learning from and collaborating with some of the best in our business.”
ZRG Partners, founded in 1999, is a progressive mid-sized global executive search firm that uses a proven, data-driven approach. The firm finds leaders across a broad spectrum of business markets, including aerospace, consumer, education, healthcare services and solutions, industrial, life sciences, non-profit, private equity and venture capital, and technology.
Continued Expansion
ZRG has experienced a wave of expansion recently. Here is an abridged overview of the firm’s growth from the Hunt Scanlon Media archives:
In May, ZRG acquired certain assets of Dowd Associates, an executive search firm focused on the financial officer’s space. As part of the asset purchase agreement, Dowd Associates’ president and CEO Rich Dowd joined ZRG as a managing director. Mr. Dowd has over 20 years of experience in executive search. In addition to being a known subject-matter expert in treasury search, he also has deep experience in VPs of finance, controller and CFO search work. He becomes a member of ZRG’s financial officer’s practice.
The firm began the year by adding Frederick Lamster as a managing director and a retail sector specialist within its growing consumer practice. ZRG described the move as part of a strategy and commitment to accelerate its ability to serve a wider range of clients within the global consumer landscape. Prior to joining ZRG, Mr. Lamster was a partner with Battalia Winston, where he provided retained search and organizational consulting to clients in the retail sector.
ZRG Partners Taps New Funding, Eyes Further Growth
Backed by a new investment partner, ZRG Partners has recapitalized. The search firm, already undergoing rapid expansion, looks to build on its core strategy as well as broaden its services through strategic acquisitions. Here’s the backstory.
In addition, ZRG named Rahul Kapur as managing director and leader of its newly launched blockchain unit and Bruce J. Robertson as managing director and head of the financial officer practice. The new blockchain practice will help the firm’s financial services, fintech and healthcare clients as well as those in emerging blockchain-centric industries meet the emerging talent needs required to capitalize on opportunities in the distributed ledger/blockchain space, said ZRG Partners. With deep expertise in payments and financial technology, Mr. Kapur previously held senior positions at PwC, Deloitte, Capgemini and MasterCard Advisors.
Continued Growth
Here is an overview of further examples of the firm’s growth from the Hunt Scanlon Media archives:
Giovanni Lamarca was recently hired as a managing director and a consumer products sector leader within the firm’s growing consumer practice. Mr. Lamarca is of multiple nationalities and speaks six languages fluently, said ZRG. Previously, he was managing director with RSR Partners.
Just recently, ZRG appointed Charles H. King as managing director and global board practice leader. Mr. King, who has completed more than 600 board mandates in his career, partners with clients to recruit executives to serve as directors of public and private companies.
ZRG also recently acquired certain assets of the Epsen Fuller Group. As part of the asset acquisition agreement, Thomas Fuller, formerly the managing partner and CEO of Epsen Fuller Group, is joining ZRG as managing director & global practice leader for the firm’s consumer sector.
