Vetted Solutions Seeks CEO for American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics

September 28, 2022 – The American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) has retained Washington, D.C.- based Vetted Solutions to lead its search for a new chief executive officer. The new CEO will replace a retiring executive and implement the organization’s strategic and annual operating plans. The individual will be expected to oversee all of ASCPT’s programs and services, including three premiere journals in the field and the Society’s Annual Meeting, which will convene in-person for the first time since the pandemic next March, While headquartered in Alexandria, VA, the new CEO will have the opportunity to lead a completely remote staff.

The search firm is looking for candidates with at least 10 to 15 years of senior-level executive management experience in the scientific/medical/health care association/non-profit sector. They should have experience with a highly visible volunteer organization and be a champion of diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging. Experience with scientific or scholarly publishing operations is also essential. Prospects should possess knowledge of finance, budgeting, marketing, and have small business management acumen.

The right candidate should also be a builder of teams with the ability to lead the transformation of strategic direction into business operations, professional accountability, and results for the organization. He or she must have the ability to address problems and challenges, and bring creativity and new solutions for continuous improvement. In addition, candidates should be committed to recruiting, engaging, working with, and retaining a diverse membership and staff.
