The executive director, functioning as the chief executive officer of New York Corporation The Martin Luther School, is responsible for carrying out the policies of the association through its board of directors. S/he shall be responsible for the daily operation of the school and the welfare of the faculty and staff. ensure that people and resources are allocated appropriately to achieve the mission and vision of Martin Luther School. They will model and give witness to the Christian faith with the integrity, character, and enthusiasm of a disciple of Jesus Christ, giving ultimate concern for the spiritual lives of all staff, students and families.

This lead has the ultimate responsibility and authority for the operation of Martin Luther School. They will oversee the functions related to personnel, admissions, recruitment, education, finance, development, buildings and grounds, through the administrative staff offices. This executive establishes and leads an effective administrative team and staff in a manner that engages and empowers others to take action and responsibility to achieve results, maintaining a climate of excellence, accountability and respect.

Candidates should bring a deep understanding of current educational best practices and a commitment to Christ-centered education. They must have the ability to develop and implement a strong academic program that aligns with the school’s mission and values. Those applying will have a commitment to student growth and development, both academically and spiritually. Prior school administration experience preferred.

The search firm is seeking candidates with five-plus years of management/administrative experience in child care/family services or an equivalent related field. Experience leading a large, multi-faceted organization, preferably in the non-profit sector is also a must. In addition, fundraising and major gift donor management experience is preferred.
