July 31, 2013 – Online job matching service TheLadders.com has named Shankar Mishra as vice president of data science and analytics. Mr. Mishra will be responsible for leveraging TheLadders’ data from the firm’s more than six million members, along with machine-learning algorithms, to enhance job matches and recommendations, and develop insights-based strategies and new product features. He will be based in the corporate headquarters in New York City. “Shankar’s analytical expertise, coupled with his leadership skills, make him the best candidate for helping us successfully connect the right person with the right job,” said Alex Douzet, CEO and co-founder of TheLadders. “Our focus on becoming a mobile-first, web-second company has prompted us to better understand our job seekers and employers alike. Shankar will be instrumental in contributing strategic data insights that will lead to continued product innovation for our core job-matching business.” Mr. Mishra joins TheLadders from media startup Intent Media where he was VP of data science, and previously in senior-level analytics roles with global ecommerce giants, including Wyndham Hotel Group and Travelocity.
