The Adecco Group Introduces r.Potential

April 25, 2025 – The Adecco Group has launched r.Potential, which will enter into a strategic partnership with Salesforce. r.Potential was established to support senior business leaders tasked with shaping the future of work. As AI rapidly becomes central to enterprise decision-making, today’s business leaders are confronting new questions and challenges around how human and digital workforces will coexist, collaborate, and succeed together in the modern workplace. With its main office in San Francisco, r.Potential is led by Greg Shewmaker, who will serve as the company’s CEO. He was previously Adecco’s senior vice president of global operations and AI.

“As investment and advances in AI agents proliferate, senior business leaders face increasing pressure to make high-stakes workforce decisions with clarity and confidence that ensure a future in which human and digital workers coexist and thrive together,” said Mr. Shewmaker. “Given the magnitude of this moment, poor planning and preparation could realistically lead to millions of people being mistakenly impacted by job loss or underemployment and/or the loss of billions of dollars in failed AI investments. We are creating next-generation enterprise intelligence to allow leaders to explore potential paths before committing to them. We believe this will help organizations automate work without dehumanizing their workers and help them avoid unnecessary waste.”

“This new company is uniquely positioned to support business leaders to enhance their workforce strategies in a new paradigm where human and digital agents are collaborating side-by-side,” said Denis Machuel, CEO of the Adecco Group. “r.Potential can deliver innovation at the speed and scale required in the world of agentic AI.”

r.Potential asserts that embracing AI adoption within a well-defined framework for collaboration between humans and AI agents – relevant, scalable, predictable, and executable – sets the stage to unlock successful outcomes. “Only by having a dynamic understanding of the work humans should continue to do and the work agents can do will senior business leaders be able to accelerate workforce modernization,” the Adecco Group said.

r.Potential is leveraging vast information not currently found in existing AI models. This includes real-time global labor data and the Adecco Group’s workforce insights. r.Potential is also entering into a strategic partnership with Salesforce to leverage its core platform and Agentforce, the digital labor platform designed to augment teams with trusted autonomous AI agents, to develop its solution. This enables the company to create enterprise intelligence with compounding layers of value that include:

  • Integrative Intelligence: Suggested configurations of human and digital potential based on the unification of market and company data.
  • Adaptive Intelligence: Suggested configurations of human and digital potential based on real-time agent performance across an enterprise.
  • Predictive Intelligence: Simulated configurations of human and digital potential based on market and company data, real-time performance, and proprietary intelligence trained specifically for C-suite decision-making.
