SRi Expands Into the U.S.

August 2, 2016 – Executive search firm SRi (Sports Recruitment International) has expanded to the U.S. with the appointment of Steven Moser as a consultant.

Mr. Moser becomes the first SRi appointment to be permanently based stateside, expanding the firm’s global reach that already includes bases in Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Singapore, Switzerland and the U.K. He will be based in Phoenix.

Specializing in high performance, Mr. Moser will cover all areas which contribute to the overall health, development and wellness of athletes, with a focus on roles that include head coaches, sports scientists, performance analysts and strength & conditioning staff.

Mr. Moser will broaden SRi’s reach and capability to the U.S. sports market, which has been undergoing tremendous growth over the last decade. Joining from a global leader in sport performance, EXOS, he brings a wealth of experience across both corporate and high performance recruitment. His sports experience also covers recruitment and sales roles at hockey and athletics brands, including an NHL hockey team (the Buffalo Sabres), where he worked on in-depth scouting and analytics. Most recently, he was talent acquisition lead, elite performance and university recruiting for EXOS, a leader in proactive health and performance regimens, used by elite athletes, the military, and various global companies.

Just recently, SRi acquired Munich-based sporting goods and fashion executive search firm, “heads for brands.” Andreas Huber, who served as chief executive officer of the firmbecame head of sporting goods and fashion for SRi. Mr. Huber has more than 10 years of experience in recruiting for fashion, lifestyle (eyewear, bodywear, accessories etc.) and the sports industry (outdoor and performance wear). His firm recruited senior level executives for international brands as well as medium-sized companies in finding experts and executives throughout the sector.

SRI also recently added Max Dawson to lead its operations in Canada. Mr. Dawson, who serves as Canadian business director, was previously a search manager with executive recruiting firm Conroy Ross Partners. He previously served in numerous roles with the Edmonton Oilers, most recently as a partnership sales specialist and operations supervisor.

SRi is not the only overseas search firm specializing in the sports sector to look at expansion opportunities in the U.S. Nolan London-headquartered Nolan Partners has just expanded into North America, opening dual offices in Los Angeles and New York simultaneously and appointing Chad Biagini as managing director of North America.

Founded in 2006, Nolan Partners is focused exclusively on working with clients in sports and related sectors. The firm has completed more than 250 senior executive placements across 16 different sports, including the NFL, NBA, swimming, tennis, Formula 1, cricket, rugby, and football / soccer.

Mr. Biagini brings over 10 years of experience in executive search representing a range of sports clients including Ultimate Fighting Championship, WWE, Special Olympics, and teams across Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, and the NFL.

“The sports industry is global, with two of the largest commercial markets being the U.K. and U.S. Opening offices in Los Angeles and New York City allows us to better serve our clients and further cements our position as leaders of executive search in the global sports industry,” said Paul Nolan, group managing director. “We’ve received an increasing number of requests from clients to see a global candidate pool, and our own portfolio has been expanding on both sides of the pond.” Nolan Partners plans to add consultants and researchers in the coming months to its new U.S. locations.
