SpenglerFox Appoints Non-Executive Chairman

March 5, 2020 – London-based executive search firm SpenglerFox has elected Filip Lerno as non-executive chairman.

Mr. Lerno brings over 20 years of experience within the search sector. He has worked as a senior executive at both Spencer Stuart and Heidrick & Struggles, specializing in the private equity and industrial practices where he conducted numerous senior searches across EMEA.

Prior to his career in executive search, Mr. Lerno spent six years as a business development manager at Iveco Europe and five years at Tenneco Automotive Inc. as key account director-Europe, responsible for the aftermarket.

As chairman of the SpenglerFox board, Mr. Lerno will work closely with the CEO and the SpenglerFox management team to support the future strategic direction of the business as the firm grows both organically and through well placed acquisitions.

“I am delighted to welcome Filip Lerno onto the board of the SpenglerFox Group,” said Jens Friedrich, CEO at SpenglerFox. “His experience in the world of senior search and human capital solutions will act as an added impetus to our overall business offering to our clients around the globe. He has a proven track record in connecting the best senior talents with the world’s top companies and I am convinced he will be equally successful in helping us at SpenglerFox to implement our strategy and further grow our business.”

Global Search Firm

Founded in 2003, SpenglerFox is a global retained search and HR services firm working across multiple territories serving both the mature and emerging markets. The firm also provides interim management, payrolling and recruitment process outsourcing in both mature and emerging markets. The firm also has a dedicated focus on board work for small to mid-sized companies and a research team that provides talent mapping and pipelining solutions.

SpenglerFox recently added Marta Skalska as head of research. She has over 14 years of experience in recruitment, specialized in automotive, industrial manufacturing, aerospace and defense, oil and gas, and temporary assignments, gained from recruitment companies in Poland and the U.K.

Last year, SpenglerFox formed an alliance with Dublin-based Cowley Brown Recruitment aimed at growing and expanding both firms’ search business in Ireland. Both companies believe that there continues to be significant opportunities in the Irish market, as both foreign direct investment (FDI) and indigenous Irish companies continue to expand, said the firms. “The combined set of strengths of both teams, as well as the level and quality of existing contacts and candidate-reach, means that ambitious targets are being set by the new strategic alliance, and both companies are very much looking forward to an exciting future, collaborating on multiple assignments together, both in Ireland and internationally in the best interest of our respective clients,” said the firms.
