For this role, a doctor of medicine (MD) or doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) is required, with a master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field strongly preferred. Candidates should have at least five years of clinical experience as a practicing clinician or clinical leader, along with substantial administrative or leadership experience in an accredited hospital or medical center. Prior experience as a chief medical officer or an equivalent role in a large, complex hospital or health system is preferred. A current and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state is required, along with current or past board certification. Membership in an appropriate medical professional organization is also expected.
