Quick Leonard Kieffer Tapped by CommunityHealth to Find New CEO

May 28, 2019 – Healthcare is among the most rapidly growing employment fields, according to analysts at Hunt Scanlon Media, which tracks trends in the executive search and leadership solutions space. So it is that the need for recruiting firms to deliver top-drawer leaders throughout the sector has only grown.

Executive recruitment firm Quick Leonard Kieffer has recently been enlisted by CommunityHealth in Chicago to lead its search for a new chief executive officer. The assignment is being conducted by Steven M. Derks, president and CEO, along with principal Joe Johnston.

Reporting to the chair of the board of directors, the CEO is the lead executive responsible for executing against a board-approved strategic plan, annual goals and objectives, as well as ensuring strong financial controls and oversight and high quality operations and services. The individual must organize functions and assemble a staff team to assist in, support and be accountable for this work.

“The CEO helps generate and oversee a more than $3 million fundraising and operating budget as well as more than $19 million in donated goods and services,” said Quick Leonard Kieffer. “He or she will have oversight of 40 staff as well as a 1600-member volunteer corps.”

Founded in 1993, CommunityHealth is the nation’s largest free clinic, serving Chicago and surrounding communities. It is the leader in delivering comprehensive, high-quality, patient-centered health care at no cost to low-income, uninsured adults in need of a medical home. The organization relies on the combination of philanthropy, donations of goods and services, volunteerism, partnerships with academic medical centers, residency programs and providers, as well as passionate and committed board and staff champions to fulfill its mission to improve the health and well-being of the uninsured and the communities in which they live.
