Nexus Search Partners Assists Charlotte Regional Business Alliance with Recruiting New COO

December 18, 2024 – Nexus Search Partners, an executive search and advisory firm in Charlotte, NC, has placed Tracy Dodson as chief operating officer and head of economic development for the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance (CLT Alliance). “We’re confident Tracy’s leadership will add tremendous value to the region,” said Thaddeus V. A 20-year industry veteran, Ms. Dodson brings a wealth of experience in economic development and real estate across North and South Carolina. In her current role as assistant city manager and economic development director for the City of Charlotte, she utilizes business insights and strategies to champion economic expansion, workforce development, and upward mobility initiatives. Notable successes under Ms. Dodson’s leadership include the relocation of Honeywell’s headquarters to Charlotte, along with significant expansions by companies like LendingTree, AvidXchange, and Lowe’s, which collectively brought thousands of jobs to the region. Her career also includes leadership roles at Lincoln-Harris and Charlotte Center City Partners.

In her new role, Ms. Dodson will oversee economic development, research, marketing, communications, business development, and investor relations for the organization. “I’m excited about this opportunity,” she said. “The chance to reshape CLT Alliance and build on years of experience and connections within regional and state business and government circles was too good to pass up.”

He most recently served as executive vice president and chief talent officer for Red Ventures, a multi-billion dollar operating private equity company with more than 21 companies in its portfolio. It is also one of the largest digital media companies in the U.S.

Following a comprehensive national search, Nexus recently helped to recruit Asa Jackson as the new president and CEO for McColl Center. “Jackson, a multidisciplinary artist and accomplished arts leader, emerged as the top candidate after a nationwide search conducted by McColl Center’s board of directors in partnership with Nexus Search Partners,” the organization said.
