Korn Ferry Appoints VP of Data Science and Machine Learning

April 6, 2021 – Korn Ferry has named Tammy Wang as vice president of data science and machine learning for the firm’s digital business. She is based in San Francisco. “Tammy has incredible experience working as a leader in the data science and machine learning space. Her breadth of industry and technical knowledge is going to be an asset to our team,” said Satish Gannu, chief technology officer for Korn Ferry’s digital unit. “She specializes in building teams to deliver robust, scalable platforms to fuel the fast growth of various businesses including online search auction, content monetization and recruiting technology​. We’re thrilled to have her on board.”

Ms. Wang brings more than 20 years of experience to the firm and has held a number of positions in data science and engineering. She joins Korn Ferry from Riviera Partners, where she was vice president of data science and engineering. There, she built the firm’s data science team and machine learning platforms to assist recruiting efforts. Previously, Ms. Wang was a senior director for Zillow, a director of revenue science with Microsoft, and a senior staff engineer and architect for the Walt Disney Internet Group. As the head of data science and machine learning for Korn Ferry digital, Ms. Wang will be leveraging Korn Ferry’s proprietary data and benchmarks, client data and third-party market data to derive new insights and drive customer outcomes through the Korn Ferry intelligence cloud platform.

The Korn Ferry intelligence cloud delivers insight to organizational leaders including both descriptive and predicative analytics. Korn Ferry proprietary data and benchmarks includes data from 70 million assessments, rewards data for 25 million incumbents at more than 25,000 companies across 150 countries, organizational survey data on seven million employees and nearly 800 companies.

New Additions

In January, Korn Ferry appointed Charles Falcone as a senior client partner and global leader of its academic sector recruiting practice, including academic medicine and higher education. Based in Chicago, he also becomes director of the Korn Ferry Physician Leadership Institute. “Charlie has an exceptional reputation in the market and brings extensive advisory and search experience working on the successful recruitment of CEOs, chancellors, deans, presidents, chairs, chief medical officers and board-level assignments for academic institutions, health systems, and health-related associations and societies,” said Gregory Button, president of the firm’s global healthcare services practice. “He will be a great asset to our team.”

Korn Ferry also recently appointed Michael Morcos as vice chairman of the firm’s CEO and board practice in EMEA. He is based between the Dubai and London offices. With more than 20 years of experience in international management consulting, recruiting and executive search, Mr. Morcos brings his expertise to clients on key issues such as board alignment, leadership development, post-merger integration and leadership assessment, and executive search. Mr. Morcos’ clients include global MNCs, ruling families, governments, SWFs, industrial conglomerates and financial institutions.


Korn Ferry Launches Virtual Recruiting Technology Solution
Korn Ferry has launched Korn Ferry Recruit, a fully integrated, virtual technology solution for high-volume hiring. Nimble uses best-in-class AI, along with the proven recruitment intellectual property of Korn Ferry. The firm said that the new solution “is designed to leverage a client’s brand, shifting to a candidate-driven experience by sourcing, attracting, assessing and selecting the right people for the job at an affordable cost-per-hire.” It is part of the firm’s line of Nimble solutions.

Korn Ferry also named Henrik Maartensson as a senior leader in the firm’s global private equity and industrial practices. Mr. Maartensson joins Korn Ferry from Spencer Stuart, where he co-led the firm’s EMEA region, bringing his leadership advisory experience to a range of board and C-level engagements for international companies. Previously, he led the firm’s global transformation program and prior to that he served as global practice leader for the firm’s industrial and supply chain practices. “Henrik brings rich experience leading complex engagements while working with a broad scope of private equity and industrial organizations,” said Mr. Gibert. “He is a natural leader and trusted partner whose regional and industry experience will be an invaluable asset to our clients.”
