Herbert Mines Associates Appoints Managing Director

December 18, 2020 – Recruiters in the search industry continue to climb the ladder within their respective firms. Just recently, New York-based retail and consumer focused executive search firm Herbert Mines Associates promoted Caitlin Kenefick to managing director. “We are excited to announce that Caitlin Kenefick has been promoted to managing director,” said chairman and CEO Hal Reiter. “With over 10 years of experience in executive search, Caitlin will continue to work on high-level search assignments, focusing on CEO and C-suite searches with a particular expertise in merchandising, marketing, retail/stores, human resources, and strategy functions within the retail sector.”

In her role with Herbert Mines, Ms. Kenefick focuses on high-level search assignments for clients within the retail and consumer products industries. She brings a particular focus on merchandising, marketing, retail/stores, human resources, and strategy functions within the retail sector. She has worked extensively with public, private, and PE-backed clients. Earlier this year, Ms. Kenefick along with Herbert Mines’ president Brenda Malloy and managing director Alison Weil placed Gil Phipps as the new senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Sprouts Farmers Market in Phoenix, AZ. With more than 20 years of experience in the grocery industry, Mr. Phipps was recruited to Sprouts from Cincinnati-based Kroger Co., the parent company of Arizona’s Fry’s Food Stores.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining Herbert Mines Associates, Ms. Kenefick was a member of the global consumer practice at Russell Reynolds Associates, specializing in the retail and consumer packaged goods sectors. In her four years with the firm, she completed a broad range of assignments in retail, beauty and e-commerce. Prior to that, Ms. Kenefick was part of the global consumer practice at Heidrick & Struggles, working in both the New York and Chicago offices. She supported the retail, consumer packaged goods, hospitality and media sectors across all functional practices.
