Charles Aris Promotes Four Team Members

August 21, 2018 – Recruiters in the search industry continue to climb the ladder within their respective firms. Just recently, Greensboro, NC-based executive search firm Charles Aris Inc. announced promotions for Jill Jitima, Ashlee Wagner, T.J. Deal and Joe Caporaso.

Jill Jitima

Ms. Jitima moves from the firm’s strategy & corporate development practice leader to vice president. In her new role, Ms. Jitima adds deepening senior leadership responsibilities to her work as head of the consumer/retail industry recruiting practice.

“The entire firm is extremely excited about Jill’s promotion to vice president, which is very well deserved,” said Charles Aris COO Allen Oakley. “Jill continues to make a valuable impact on the firm, helping it grow successfully. Her work is felt across the entire organization and she is truly a cultural beacon who defines what servant leadership is all about.”

During her two and a half years as a practice leader, Ms. Jitima made 37 placements in client organizations, said the firm. She partnered with 18 unique companies across the consumer, retail and food & beverage sectors.

Ms. Jitima joined Charles Aris in 2011 after holding multiple leadership roles at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and has since worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies across food and beverage, health and beauty, household goods, consumer durables, apparel and retail. Her continued success in client care stems from her deep knowledge of the strategy and corporate development space and her commitment to identifying and attracting A-level talent for her client organizations, said the firm.

Ashlee Wagner

Ms. Wagner was promoted from senior associate practice leader to practice leader. As a key member of the firm’s strategy & corporate development practice, Ms. Wagner will lead recruitment efforts in the financial services marketplace.

“We couldn’t be more excited about Ashlee Wagner’s ongoing success at Charles Aris, and we are thrilled to announce that she has now been promoted to practice leader for our financial services practice,” said CEO Chad Oakley. “Making the successful jump from associate to practice leader is the most difficult transition in our organization, and you can only be promoted once you’ve demonstrated the skills and capabilities to lead a practice by hitting multiple milestones. Ashlee has met them all with flying colors.”

Ms. Wagner joined the firm in 2014, and has since been promoted four times. This year, Ms. Wagner was named among the Triad Business Journal’s “40 Leaders Under Forty.”

In the past three years, the Charles Aris strategy & corporate development recruiting team placed 245 candidates at multiple levels in client organizations. The firm’s senior leaders expect that number grow as practice leaders such as Ms. Wagner strengthen an already strong recruiting practice, said the firm.

T.J. Deal

Mr. Deal goes from associate practice leader to senior associate practice leader. As a pivotal part of the firm’s strategy & corporate development practice, he will focus primarily on recruiting current and former investment bankers, as well as senior corporate development leaders, for corporations and private equity backed portfolio companies.

Since 2004, the strategy & corporate development practice placed more than 550 candidates in mission-critical roles, said the firm, and Mr. Deal had a hand in a number of those since his arrival.

“T.J. has become a key member of our strategy & corporate development leadership team,” said vice president Steven Stewart. “His passion for search work in the corporate development/ M&A space, coupled with his ability to create meaningful relationships with current and former investment bankers, is the perfect recipe for success here.”

Mr. Deal joined Charles Aris three years ago, and has been a top performer ever since. He earned three promotions in his time with the firm. Previously, he directed military accounts for Arbor Supply, a brokerage firm that facilitates the distribution of nonfood items to the military commissaries.

Joe Caporaso

Mr. Caporaso was promoted from senior associate recruiter to associate practice leader. In his new role, he will add business development responsibilities across the industrial and consumer industries to his functional recruiting efforts in strategy & corporate development.

“I’m so excited to see Joe take this next step in his career,” said Ms. Jitima. “He has been a strong contributor to the growth of my practice and a fantastic thought partner to me. He has a natural ability to build strong relationships and trust with clients and candidates, and knows how to dig in and help solve difficult challenges on searches.”

In his three years with the firm, Mr. Caporaso established himself as a top performer with the ability to craft meaningful relationships with candidates and hiring authorities alike.

Previously, Mr. Caporaso worked as a producer with Insurance of the Carolinas, specializing in home, auto, life and commercial products. He also spent a year as president of the High Point Jaycees, an organization dedicated to providing leadership development and community service opportunities for 21-to-40-year-olds in the Piedmont Triad region.

Established nearly 50 years ago, Charles Aris is a search industry pioneer focused on senior-level assignments within the strategy & business development, private equity, consumer/ retail, finance & accounting, sales & marketing, education, executive leadership, engineering & operations, chemicals and agribusiness sectors.
