Hanold Associates Recruits Chief People Officer for The Howard Hughes Corp.

February 6, 2023 – Hanold Associates HR & Diversity Executive Search has recruited has recruited Hope VonBorkenhagen as chief people officer of The Howard Hughes Corp. Dr. VonBorkenhagen’s educational and executive background brings a unique perspective to the company’s dedicated efforts to develop and mentor talent by placing people at the core of its long-term strategies for growth and success. She has nearly 20 years of executive-level human resources experience in both the public and private sectors and across industries including aerospace, oil and gas, healthcare, and manufacturing.

Dr. VonBorkenhagen most recently served as vice president of human resources at Lennox International – Residential, a global provider of innovative climate-control solutions, consisting of 6,000 employees worldwide. Prior to that, she held top HR roles with Oceans Healthcare, HollyFrontier Corp., and National Cooperative Refinery Association.

In her role with The Howard Hughes Corp., Dr. VonBorkenhagen will be expected to build upon the existing successes of the culture and people function to nurture the company’s hard-working, entrepreneurial culture. Hanold Associates HR & Diversity Executive Search has placed Michele Meyer-Shipp as chief people and culture officer for Major League Baseball. Jason Hanold, CEO and co-managing partner of the search firm, led the assignment. “Michele is an exceptional leader and an inspirational person,” said Mr. Hanold. “She will have an incredibly positive impact on Major League Baseball in this newly created role within the commissioner’s office.”


Mr. Watson, head of communications for Hanold Associates, is based in Salt Lake City, UT. He brings more than a decade of marketing and communications experience across multiple high-growth technology companies, including three different unicorns based in the Silicon Slopes.
