Greenwood Asher & Associates Leading Chief Marketing Officer Search for the College of Charleston

June 29, 2026 – Miramar Beach, FL-based executive recruitment firm Greenwood Asher & Associates (GA&A) is currently seeking a chief marketing officer and vice president for marketing and communications for the College of Charleston. Kyle Pybus-Jerome and Jeremy Duff are leading the assignment.
The College of Charleston seeks a strategic and innovative marketing executive to lead an integrated marketing and communications enterprise that advances the College’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. Reporting directly to the president and serving on the president’s cabinet, the CMO and VP provides executive leadership for the office of university marketing and communications. This role is responsible for strengthening the College’s brand, enhancing its national visibility, and ensuring consistent, high-impact engagement with internal and external audiences.
They will partner with academic and administrative leaders to align messaging and initiatives with institutional goals. The successful candidate will assess and enhance organizational structure, processes, and resources to build a modern, data-informed, and results-driven marketing and communications function.
For this role, candidates must have a minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience in marketing, communications, or related fields. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, or a related field is preferred as well as a strong understanding of and experience with digital and traditional marketing, with a focus on measurable outcomes. Experience building or repositioning a brand and translating institutional values into a compelling narrative is also need along with demonstrated success leading integrated marketing and communications functions in complex organizations.

As vice president of executive search, Mr. Duff brings the knowledge and experience of leading hundreds of high-profile executive level searches in the U.S. and worldwide in the private and public sectors. He previously served as managing director for the University of Virginia’s executive search group within the office of the president. In this role, he conducted senior leadership searches for the university and executive searches for university foundations. Mr. Duff also led the creation of the University of Virginia’s talent recruitment operation and served as a principal with DHR Global.
University of Cincinnati Search
Greenwood Asher & Associates recently assisted the University of Cincinnati (UC) in the recruitment of Rudolph Buchheit as executive vice president for academic affairs and provost. Andriel Dees and Julie Schrodt led the assignment for the search firm. His selection follows a national search led by a dedicated search committee that was informed by broad campus engagement.
