The Bachrach Group Launches SourceLab Search

January 27, 2022 – New York City-based The Bachrach Group’s digital division has separated from its parent company to form a standalone company, SourceLab Search. Key leaders of the new entity are senior vice presidents James Schindler and Max Siegman, who were originally brought together at The Bachrach Group. Mr. Schindler had been national managing director of sales and Mr. Siegman led national strategy for full time and temporary digital media, marketing, creative and sales recruitment at all levels. “They slowly but steadily built their vision, team and client base from the ground up,” said Mr. Schindler. “Eight years later, SourceLab Search was born.”

SourceLab is currently made up of 15 employees with specialized recruiters partnering with advertising agencies, startups, and tech companies, as well as luxury goods, fashion, sports, entertainment, and real estate companies. “We are true marketing experts, but what makes us different is the culture,” said Mr. Siegman. “Most of the team has worked together for six-plus years,” said Mr. Schindler. “We witnessed each other growing up through college, celebrating life events with each other—there’s a real connection when it comes to this team.”

This focus on culture is organically passed to and shared with their clients, said SourceLab. “We take the time to get to know each client and candidate to make meaningful connections,” said Alina Paskhaver, director of talent strategy. “It is impactful and rewarding when our candidates become clients and we continue to build relationships that run deep and last many years.”

Targeting the Right Candidates

SourceLab said it places a premium on understanding its clients’ needs and time requirements in order to target and deliver the right candidates, said Mr. Schindler. “When we first receive a search we use our extended network and use our market expertise to create a narrow search to deliver on target candidates,” he said. “We are in constant contact with our client to advise on the state of the market and what we are seeing within the parameters of the search. We pride ourselves on sending quality candidates over quantity.”

Executive search firms are facing an array of challenges that SourceLab says it has been working diligently to meet on behalf of its clients. “There are more roles open than qualified candidates on the market,” said Mr. Schindler. “Strong candidates have the ability to choose from multiple opportunities which drives up compensation, creating volatility in the job market. We have been strategically partnering with clients to increase diverse talent within the workplace. Two weeks ago we assisted in a diversity placement for a head of growth marketing with a mid-stage tech start-up. The client said this will be the biggest trend in hiring moving forward.”

In many ways, says Mr. Schindler, the year ahead is looking to be a lot like 2021. “Massive amounts of hiring going on across all industries,” he said. “Emphasis on work life balance and candidates having opportunities with organizations that they wouldn’t pre pandemic due to the remote options. The pandemic had forever changed the job market and we will continue to see remote / hybrid working opportunities for the long run.”

SourceLab is the second search firm spun out of parent The Bachrach Group. The other is Jackson Lucas,  a retained executive search firm with expertise in real estate, asset management, investment banking and IT.
