DSG Global | Koya Partners Tapped by ASPCA for CFO Search

October 3, 2025 – DSG Global | Koya Partners has been retained by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to lead in its search for a new CFO. Molly Brennan, global managing partner and non-profit and social impact practice leader, managing directors Erin Reedy and Tyler Ridgeway, are leading the assignment.

The ASPCA seeks a mission-driven CFO to lead its enterprise-wide financial strategy, investment oversight, and real estate functions. Reporting to the president and CEO and serving as a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure strong financial management, organizational agility, and mission impact at scale.

The ASPCA seeks a leader who demonstrates a genuine connection to its mission to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the U.S., and its core values of commitment, ownership, team, elevate and impact. Candidates should bring an authentic resonance with the non-profit’s cause and a clear desire to advance the well-being of animals and the people who care for them. Those applying must be steady, humble, and resilient, modeling accountability and inclusivity in their leadership.

DSG | Koya is looking for candidates with a minimum 20 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 10 years in CFO or senior finance roles within large, complex organizations. Candidates should have a blend of non-profit and for-profit experience is strongly preferred, reflecting an ability to apply best practices from both sectors in support of a mission-driven enterprise. Demonstrated success managing $200M+ budgets, with deep experience in financial planning, analysis, accounting operations, and investment oversight is also preferred.

Candidates should be skilled at building trust-based relationships with executive peers, board committees, external advisors, and financial institutions. They must have a proven ability to translate strategy into operational execution through systems, people, and process leadership as well as experience overseeing large-scale capital projects and real estate transactions, including site acquisition, construction, and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with nonprofit fiduciary responsibilities and regulatory frameworks, including UPMIFA and Form 990 requirements is a plus.

With a prior career in community development finance and a deep commitment to the non-profit sector, her clients have included The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Jumpstart, Financial Health Network, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, among others. In her 14-year career in executive search, she has conducted more than 250 searches for CEO, executive director, and other senior level roles. She has particular expertise leading searches for Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and other organizations working in affordable housing and community and economic development.

Mr. Ridgeway joined DSG Global from Kreischer Miller where he was a partner for 15 years. He helped grow and lead the firm’s executive search group and had a track record of building and advancing C-level teams for many of the best companies in the area. Ridgeway’s firm and its team had a keen focus on transforming many large mid-market companies by helping them attract and retain world-class executive teams.
