CNA International Expands to Australia

May 29, 2019 – U.K.-based executive recruiting franchise CNA International has opened a new office in Brisbane, Australia. Mahadevan Shankar, who joined CNA in March as managing partner of the Oceania region, has been appointed to lead the new location. His main charge is to develop extensive regional networks.

“CNA International recognizes the tremendous economic growth and employment potential within the Oceania region,” said the business. “As the region has a high degree of multiculturalism, coupled with thriving business ventures and economies, there is a need for executive search, CNA set about securing a local specialist to take on the challenge.”

Mr. Shankar has over 25 years of global experience, including in large developed economies of Australia, Canada, India and Russia as well as in developing economies in the South Pacific, Central Asia and Africa. He is an executive committee member of the Australia-India Business Council, QLD Chapter and a past founding executive committee member of the PNG India Business Forum. He is also founding vice chairman of two established Indian chartered accountancy business networks in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Mr. Shankar is a former partner of Deloitte. He has been leader of a number of professional teams, providing a range of services to small, medium and large corporations including unlisted privately-held companies and listed companies on ASX, FTSE, AIM, NASDAQ, TSX, BSE and NSE. The services range across external and internal audits, corporate finance, private equity and venture capital, enterprise risk services, corporate restructuring, forensic due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, SME business solutions and strategic transaction advisory services in different countries.

“Mahadevan brings valuable leadership expertise coupled with his extensive network at C-suite and executive management levels, and recognizes the need to provide customized talent solutions to each organization in the region,” CNA International said in a statement.

“Since 1993 CNA International has gone from strength to strength with 50 offices across the globe and still growing,” said Nick Sprang, managing director of CNA.
