October 3, 2018 – The booming technology sector, vibrant even when the economy was softer, shows little sign of retreat, according to a host of recruiters who service companies across the field.
It continues, in fact, to produce capabilities and services that few imagined just a decade ago. In response, a number of search firms have expanded their technology search practices.
Greensboro, NC-based executive search firm Charles Aris Inc. recently expanded with the addition of Michael Riek as its technology practice leader.
Mr. Riek will identify and recruit senior leaders in business process services, business process outsourcing and contact centers. He will team with Charles Aris vice president Steven Stewart, who leads the firm’s technology, media and telecom (TMT) recruiting efforts.
“We’re excited about Michael joining the TMT practice,” Mr. Stewart said. “With his deep understanding of contact centers, BPS and BPO – coupled with the vast number of captive and outsourced business processes in the TMT space – Michael is an invaluable addition to the team, both for the clients we serve and Charles Aris as well.”
“I’m excited to partner with Steven, who brings a wealth of executive search experience to the table while focused in the technology vertical,” said Mr. Riek. “Our combined experience will position us well to grow the practice.”
Before joining Charles Aris, Mr. Riek started several global business process outsourcing companies focused on inbound customer care, technical support and back-office support programs. He also established contact centers in Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, India and the U.S. Previously, he served as SVP of sales and marketing, southwest, for BluSky Restoration. Before that, he was VP of sales for Client Services Inc. He has also been president of Lighthouse Sourcing, Inc., a global outsourcing firm.
Mr. Riek’s expertise in the “technology and telecom space bodes well for Charles Aris, where senior leaders are excited to pair Riek’s experience building companies from the ground up with the firm’s 14-Step Priority Search Process,” said the firm. “Together, they’ll look to continue to deliver world-class talent to client organizations.”
Established nearly 50 years ago, Charles Aris is a search industry pioneer focused on senior-level assignments within the strategy & business development, private equity, consumer/ retail, finance & accounting, sales & marketing, education, executive leadership, engineering & operations, chemicals and agribusiness sectors.
In June, Charles Aris expanded with the addition of Peter Uber as its newest colleague. He focuses on recruiting senior-level sales and marketing leaders on behalf of clients in the food & beverage industry. Mr. Uber has an extensive background in shaping sales and marketing programs for a variety of organizations. He joined the search firm with two decades of business experience in advertising, publishing and manufacturing. His experience and acquired knowledge base includes training, sales, marketing, sales management, business development and operations. Previously, he served as chief operations officer at Trinico Ag.
Recently, Charles Aris announced promotions for Ashlee Wagner, Heather Porter and T.J. Deal. Ms. Wagner was named senior associate practice leader. As a key member of the firm’s strategy & corporate development recruiting practice, she will focus on placing senior leaders with client organizations in the financial services industry. Ms. Porter was also elevated to senior associate practice leader. In this role, she will focus on placing executive sales and marketing leaders in her industrial client organizations. Mr. Deal was named an associate practice leader. In this role, he will add business development responsibilities across the technology industry to his functional recruiting efforts in strategy and corporate development.
