Bell Oakes Executive Search Seeking Chief Finance and Administrative Officer for the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation

July 2, 2026 – Atlanta-based Bell Oaks Executive Search is currently seeking a chief finance and administrative officer (CFAO) for the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation (WRF). The assignment is being led by partner Cynthia J. Moreland and senior search consultant Abi Gamino. The CFAO will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and a key member of the executive leadership team, overseeing the foundation’s financial integrity, operations, grants administration, human resources, and compliance functions. Guided by a mission-first mindset, the CFAO will bring a deep personal commitment to the Foundation’s goals and long-term impact.
As a strategic partner to the CEO, they will evaluate organizational performance through the lens of effective altruism, balanced with the principles of trust-based philanthropy. The CFAO will engage stakeholders, reduce resistance through transparent communication, and align teams to realize WRF’s aspirations.
The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of senior finance and operations experience, ideally within a private foundation or mission-driven organization, along with a demonstrated commitment to equity and a people-first leadership approach. Those applying must have a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field. They should have 15+ years of experience in industry or public accounting, with at least three years as a successful member of an executive leadership team. Demonstrated senior leadership in finance and operations within a private foundation, non-profit, or mission-driven organization is also essential.

Ms. Moreland partners with hiring managers and nonprofit boards to identify leaders who will help organizations and agencies achieve their aspirational goals. She works strategically with clients from the launch of the search through effective onboarding.
Ms. Gamino brings 10 years of experience of bridging the gap between staff, families, and students as a senior faculty on artistic staff at Atlanta Ballet Center for Dance Education. She brings a productive and effective balance between empathetically understanding needs and clearly communicating expectations.
