Bailey Montagu Executive Search Names Two Practice Leaders
October 11, 2018 – London-based Bailey Montagu Executive Search continues its expansion with the appointment of Rupert Channing as leader of the firm’s financial services search practice and Lee Cooper as head of its consumer and retail practice.
Bailey Montagu’s financial services search practice is focused on identifying, attracting and appointing high-caliber executives.
Mr. Channing has worked in executive search for more than 25 years, focusing on investment banking. He has executed searches on behalf of clients throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Previously, Mr. Rupert established the specialist financial services search firm Wellesley Partners both in London and Hong Kong. He was also a senior partner at Heidrick and Struggles in London, responsible for leading the firm’s executive search business for financial services in EMEA, as well as co-heading the firm’s global investment banking practice. Before entering the executive search business, Mr. Rupert worked in investment banking in London for Saudi International Bank.

Mr. Cooper has over 25 years of experience within executive search practices. Earlier in his career, he became partner in an accounting and finance recruitment practice, building the business threefold before exiting following the successful sale to the world’s largest professional staffing firm. Most recently, he spent three years working with Investigo, one of the U.K.’s fastest growing mid-market recruitment businesses where he was responsible for establishing an executive search practice and personally delivering retained searches across CFO and senior finance hires to global businesses from FTSE 100 through private equity, AIM and private ownership.
