Bailey Fisher Iain Hopper Leader Digital Health & Life Sciences

November 2, 2017 – U.K.-headquartered Bailey Fisher Executive Search has expanded with the addition of Iain Hopper as director of digital health & life sciences.

Mr. Hopper has developed a strong network throughout the U.K., Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, said the firm. His most recent focus was pharmaceuticals and biotechnology; he worked with market leaders including Roche, Novartis and Gilead on senior- and executive-level appointments. Previously, Mr. Hopper served as manager of life sciences at Tardis Group, a London-based search firm. Before he began his career in executive search in 2008, he served for six years in the Royal Navy as a weapons engineer.

At Bailey Fisher, Mr. Hopper is focusing on building long-term partnerships with investors into early stage and high-growth digital health and life sciences businesses across the U.K. He is helping to build leadership teams, both executive and non-executive, for their portfolio companies.

As healthcare companies work to stay atop of their drug discovery and development pipelines as well as the competition, it is becoming increasingly apparent that their greatest need is to invest in people.

Welcome Addition

“Iain is a great addition to the team, and extends the international focus of our business,” said James Houlder, Bailey Fisher’s head of research, who works closely with Mr. Hopper. “We are looking forward to building on our existing success in this dynamic sector and supporting our clients with their hiring challenges.”

Paul Bailey, founding partner of Bailey Fisher, said Mr. Hopper is a welcome addition to the firm. “I am delighted that Iain has joined the team and the potential this brings for further developing our digital health and life sciences practice,” he said. “Iain has considerable international expertise and I will enjoy working with him to support the growth of our clients’ businesses across the U.K.”

Mr. Hopper was equally glad to be on board. “I am very excited to be in the Cambridge market, at the forefront of life sciences globally,” he said. “I have already been made to feel very welcome within the local ecosystem and I am looking forward to helping Cambridge’s businesses with their growth plans.”
