Phillips Dipisa Seeking Medical Officers for St. Mary Medical Center and Milford Regional Medical Center

August 3, 2020 – Phillips, DiPisa & Associates, an executive search firm serving the healthcare and life sciences sectors, has been enlisted to find chief medical officers for both St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA and Milford Regional Medical Center in Milford, MA. Consultants Stephanie Odorisio Arriviello and Erika Warren are leading the assignments, respectively.

St. Mary Medical Center wants its new CMA to provide direction and management of medical staff services, quality, risk management and graduate medical education. The individual must also provide leadership for the organization’s enterprise strategic plan with a focus on medical staff services, quality and patient safety. It is also critical that the CMA engage key stakeholders at the local, regional and national levels to champion and advance the strategies of the organization, fulfilling their mission and responsibilities to the patients.

Candidates should have a minimum of five years of leadership experience and 15 years within clinical practice, said Phillips, DiPisa & Associates. Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and influence others are critical to the role. Also necessary is the ability to lead and implement patient safety and quality improvement initiatives while working collaboratively with a mixed model medical staff. Prospects should have either a doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathic medicine degree, completion of an accredited residency program in a medical specialty, and board certification required. An MBA, MHA or advanced management degree is preferred.

St. Mary Medical Center is part of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, a member system within Trinity Health. The medical center has 371 beds, 600 physicians, 2,000 colleagues and 1,100 volunteers. It has been the recipient of the America’s 100 Best Hospitals award for three consecutive years and Leapfrog A-Grade for patient safety. St. Mary offers four centers of excellence: cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, and emergency and trauma services.

“An Outstanding Opportunity”

Milford Regional Medical Center, meanwhile, is an independent, full-service, non-profit, community teaching hospital. Its chief medical officer role “is an outstanding opportunity for an excellent physician leader to join a unique, dynamic, highly regarded, independent healthcare provider in the southwest suburbs of Boston,” said Phillips, DiPisa & Associates.

Candidates should have a medical degree with board certification, said the search firm. Post-graduate training in relevant fields of business or healthcare administration is preferred. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Massachusetts is required. Prospects should also have 10 or more years post-graduate experience in clinical practice; a minimum of seven years of experience in a medical leadership role within an acute care community hospital or health system setting; and a strong contemporary knowledge of related laws, state and federal regulations, Joint Commission standards, state licensing and relevant payer requirements relating to medical practice within an acute care hospital setting.
