The Moran Company Tapped by Options for Supported Housing to Find New Leader

July 15, 2024 – The Moran Company, an executive recruitment firm that specializes in the non-profit sector, has been retained by Options for Supported Housing to lead in its search for a new executive director. Ann Graff, senior search consultant, is leading the assignment. The executive director is responsible for leading the organization in conducting and facilitating operations, working to market and expand the tax-exempt activities including but not limited to increasing the ability to acquire affordable grant funded homes, grow the housing partnership, and build partnerships and collaborations with other like-minded organizations.

Today, Options for Supported Housing has a budget of $2,866,840.00, and a staff of three. This is the total consolidated agency budget. The administrative and general operating budget is approximately $400,000.00.

The Moran Company notes that the executive director for Options for Supported Housing  should live in Columbus, OH, or the surrounding Central Ohio area and should be in the office when not traveling for business. The position requires 25 percent travel (including long distance). Once the candidate has been with the organization for a minimum of six months a hybrid work schedule as appropriate to the organization’s operations and onboarding may be negotiated at the board’s discretion.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, education, or a related field of interest. They should have five to seven years of experience in a non-profit management position or equivalent experience. The Moran Company explains that candidates must also have demonstrated experience in providing executive level leadership and setting the vision and strategic planning for the organization as approved by the board. Those applying should have demonstrated experience of engaging and working effectively with others from the community and among philanthropic and affordable housing colleagues in a professional manner.

Ms. Graff has a total of 35 years of executive-level experience in the non-profit sector. During that time, she spent six years as CEO at a community action agency and 14 years as CEO of a large non-profit organization serving individuals with developmental disabilities. Starting as a direct support professional, Ms. Graff’s career has included direct supervision of residential services, case management, human resources, expansion of services and more. She has worked closely with a variety of people experiencing low income, developmental disabilities and other challenges. Throughout her combined 20 years as a non-profit CEO, Ms. Graff learned firsthand how critical it is to partner closely with clients, community stakeholders, funding sources and boards of directors.

YMCA Search

The Moran Company has helped to recruit Cheri Faunce as the new CEO of YWCA Northeast Kansas. Senior search consultant Brandi Fisher led the assignment. Last year, YWCA Northeast Kansas announced that its current CEO, Kathleen Marker, would retire in the spring of 2024 after serving in the role for eight years. Since that announcement, the board of directors undertook an extensive recruitment process for her replacement led by the Moran Company.
