Talengo Appoints Life Sciences Practice Leader
June 4, 2019 – Madrid-headquartered executive search firm Talengo has named Juan Diego Casas as director and leader of its life sciences practice. Mr. Casas has over 15 years experience at multinational firms, working on executive search projects, attraction, retention and talent management solutions. “All this, added to his experience in different countries, makes him contribute a multicultural and diverse vision about the needs of the sector,” Talengo said.
Previously, Mr. Casas served as an operations director with ManpowerGroup Solutions. Before that, he was an operations director for Eastern Europe and MENA at Adecco Group. Earlier in his career, Mr. Casas spent 10 years in multiple positions with Michael Page. In his new role, Mr. Casas will have a special focus on the cultural transformation of organizations and technological innovation.
Talengo has two decades of experience in leadership consultancy, executive search and board advisory services across Europe and the Americas, with offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Bogotá and Mexico City. The firm chairs the Global Community for Leaders network which has representation in the U.K., France, Geneva, Denmark, Dubai and Brazil.
Recent Growth
Recently, Talengo named Rafael Sarandeses as principal and practice lead for financial services. At a time in which the financial services sector is undergoing a strong transformation at an international level, Mr. Sarandeses brings to Talengo’s financial services practice a deep understanding of the industry based on his career experience as a banker, entrepreneur and executive coach, said the firm. Mr. Sarandeses has a combined 20-year multicultural record as a professional athlete, investment banker and entrepreneur.
In addition, Talengo added Víctor García Poves as a new manager in the area of digital transformation. Previously, Mr. García Poves held various HR positions with Key Talent. Earlier in his career, he was a senior HR manager with Burger King Corp.

Talengo also recently hired economist Borja Arrieta as director of the firm. He has extensive experience with more than 25 years in the design and implementation of succession plans, leadership models and digital transformation, especially in the sectors of industry, consumer and energy. Mr. Arrieta focuses on leadership consulting and reinforcing the strong growth that the firm is experiencing both in the national and international market, said the firm.
Further, Gema Gómez joined Talengo as the new manager of the leadership consulting area. Her expertise in technological solutions associated with the management and development of personnel, brings extensive experience in the design and implementation of talent programs and managerial skills and development of new skills in a changing environment.
Lastly, Talengo appointed Mayte Martínez as managing director. She will drive the firm’s growth strategy both in Spain and internationally. Ms. Martínez joined the firm in 2001 as marketing and communications director. In 2005, she redesigned the methodologies and operating system of the firm’s services to achieve the ISO 9001 Certificate. In 2009, she took on a new role as organization and media director with responsibilities in the marketing and communications, human resources, finance and external alliance divisions. In addition, Ms. Martínez took part in setting up Talengo’s offices in Colombia and Mexico as well as in the rebranding from Norman Broadbent to Talengo.
