SpenglerFox Appoints Country Manager for Poland

SpenglerFox Poland

July 11, 2018 – London-headquartered executive search firm SpenglerFox has named Maciej Kotowicz as country manager for Poland.

“It is with great pleasure that I announce our latest addition to the SpenglerFox Group, Maciej Kotowicz,” said Jens Friedrich, CEO of SpenglerFox. “Maciej will be based in Warsaw, one of our firm’s strategic hub locations and drive further growth in Central Europe as part of our overall business strategy.”

Mr. Kotowicz spent the past 12 years as a partner at Heidrick & Struggles in Poland. His focus has been on executive search and leadership advisory, mainly within the consumer and industrial space in Central and Eastern Europe. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kotowicz gained substantial experience in general management as the managing director of Tate & Lyle as well as in strategic HR as an HR director with Ahold in Poland.

“I am delighted to have joined SpenglerFox during this exciting chapter in the company’s history and bring my experience to grow and develop the business and team in Poland as well as across wider geographies of SpenglerFox,” said Mr. Kotowicz. “To succeed in this industry you have to be a true expert and that is the minimum requirement of our clients. The generalist era is over.”

Poland’s economy is considered to be one of the more resilient of the post-Communist countries and is one of the fastest growing within the E.U. Having a strong domestic market, low private debt, flexible currency and not being dependent on a single export sector, Poland is the only European economy to have avoided the late-2000s recession. The Polish banking sector is the largest in the Central and Eastern European region.

Global Recruiters

Founded in 2003, SpenglerFox provides executive search and human resources consultancy services worldwide. The company also offers interim management in both mature and emerging markets, and a dedicated focus on board work for small to mid-sized companies.

At the beginning of the year, SpenglerFox named Lone Roervig as global head of its life sciences practice group. Ms. Roervig is responsible for leading the global life sciences practice, where she coordinates the firm’s specialist consultants across the globe. Her work focuses on partnering with senior leaders in the life sciences industry and providing her clients strategic advice pertaining to talent requirements.

Polish Search Market

“Famous for its hospitality, entrepreneurship, and investor-friendly climate, Poland is a country of great opportunity and considerable economic potential that continues to attract production transfers, shared services firms, and R&D centers,” said executive search firm Odgers & Berndtson.

Those attributes have contributed to the growth of Poland’s search firms in this fast growing economy. Here is a sampling from the Hunt Scanlon Media archives.

Odgers Interim, the U.K.-based executive interim division of Odgers Berndtson, has a new office in Warsaw. It is led by Richard Kaluzynski, the joint managing director of Odgers Berndtson in Poland. Mr. Kaluzynski has over 25 years’ experience in the recruitment industry.

Amrop, a partnership of recruiting firms operating from 83 offices in 57 countries throughout Asia, EMEA and the Americas, has added Lukasz Kiniewicz as a principal in Warsaw. Mr. Kiniewicz is a member of Amrop’s global professional services and technology & media practices.
