Managing Director Sharon Sterling joined Terra in 2014, bringing 30 years of demonstrated success in the real estate industry. Sterling is the leader of Terra’s new Southern California offices. Sterling will focus much of her work at the new office on business development for investment management, asset management and acquisition positions. Her industry experience is expansive and includes institutional real estate asset management, re-development, acquisition, disposition and sustainability. Prior to Terra Search Partners, Sterling was senior vice president at Grosvenor and was responsible for the re-development and re-positioning of a commercial and residential property portfolio that included luxury retail, Class A office and institutional quality multi-family properties. Sterling holds a B.A. in Economics and Business from UCLA and earned her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. Opening the southern California office, “allows me to come full circle,” she said. “I grew up in Orange County and watched it change from farms to houses to its own employment center.” She’s excited to dive, “back into the Southern California market with twice the people, more diverse industries, and a strong economic tailwind.”

Sharon is a strong advocate for community aid having served on the board of directors for the home rehabilitation non-profit Rebuilding Together. Sharon is also the Director and Founder of the Mercy Team at Grace Church of Marin where she serves on the Consistory. The Mercy Team provides community aid for people suffering from financial, physical, or emotional crisis. Sharon is a licensed foster parent to two young girls, whom she is in the process of adopting. She jokes that when midlife came along, instead of purchasing a Porsche she brought home two little girls to enrich her life.
