Mary McCarthy

Mary brings 30 years of real estate experience to executive search. Prior to joining Terra in 2016, Mary was a member of the Hines Capital Markets Group for nine years as managing director and senior managing director. At Hines she structured investment offerings and raised capital for funds and joint ventures. Mary’s prior positions have included heading her own consulting firm, as well as senior marketing and capital markets roles at Clarion Partners, Security Capital Group, and CBRE Investors. Mary’s work within investment management firms provides her with a deep understanding of real estate private equity and the skills needed for success in this realm.

Mary began her business career in New York where she was a real estate investment banker at Morgan Stanley for seven years. Prior to her business career, Mary was an architectural designer in Philadelphia. Mary has an MBA in finance from The Wharton School. Community Commitment: Mary is a trustee of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco where she co-chairs the Building & Grounds Committee. As well, she previously served as a board member of the University of Virginia’s School of Architecture Foundation and is an active member of The Urban Land Institute’s Global Exchange Council.
