Michael “JR” Wheless

Michael J.R. Wheless is the Division President responsible for engaging Boards of Directors, CEOs, and senior management decision-makers on mission critical initiatives. Michael has developed a team approach to consultancy and excels in his ability to assemble the right team to solve a client’s needs – aligning intellectual capital with business strategy. Michael and his team have served a portfolio of international clients that includes Fluor Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, National Australia Bank, RigNet, CSG International, MarkWest Energy Partners, Ralph Lauren, Bank of Tokyo, Duke University, Sysco Foods Corporation, BBVA Compass Bank, Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, Halliburton, The University of Texas System, United Parcel Services (UPS), Quanex Building Products, The Gallup Organization, Inc., Murphy Oil, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Lowe Enterprises/Destination Hotels and Resorts, Fresenius Medical Care, ITT Corporation, the Texas Medical Center Corporation, and The Home Depot.

While in his 20’s Michael began leading major initiatives on behalf of the Board of Directors of a multi-billion-dollar enterprises. Since then he has conducted over 500 assignments for Boards of Directors, CEOs, and executives of organizations ranging from small operations to top 10 Fortune $100 billion plus enterprises – including working with and recruiting some of the nation’s most influential leadership. Michael has served global companies, private equity and VC firms, and leading institutions across a broad range of industry sectors and geographies including energy, technology, healthcare, higher education, financial services, insurance, hospitality and food services, retail, CPG, EPC, manufacturing, aerospace, mining, construction and real estate. Prior to his career in consultancy, Michael served our country in the United States Air Force – Space Command Division. In this capacity he served NORAD and the U.S. Department of Defense. Michael is married, has two daughters, and enjoys family, boating, golfing, skiing, fishing, car racing, and flying.
