Mabry Smith

As President & Managing Partner, Mabry’s practice with the firm focuses on identifying talent for board director service to chief level executives as well as senior and mid-level search engagements. With service to domestic and international clients ranging from mining, manufacturing, technology, oil & gas, telecommunications, financial services and real estate to consumer goods, utilities, construction, professional services, higher education, legal and non-profit, Mabry is particularly adept at ensuring that a candidate brought forward for consideration is a “fit” for the culture within an organization and its community.

Prior to his partnership with Wheless Partners Executive Search, Mabry served as an advertising agency Account Executive, followed by a twenty-year career in Business Management with a premier manufacturing, distribution and service enterprise. His additional leadership roles and experience includes service as Chairman of the Board of King’s Home, President of The Birmingham Sunrise Rotary Club, the BBVA/Compass Bank Young Executive Board of Directors, the CMG Board of Directors, Vistage International CEO Advisory Board, The Newcomen Society, the Global CEO Network for Business as Missions, and Chairman of the Board of Cedarworks, Inc. He is a cum laude graduate of The University of Alabama and is a Paul Harris Fellow. Mabry has been a featured speaker on the CFO Thought Leader broadcast, and is the author of the Chief Executive Magazine published article Preparing for Board Director Retirement: A Customized Approach to Succession Planning.
