March 12, 2026 – Atlanta-based talent consultancy Modern Executive Solutions has named Brad Pugh has joined the firm as senior partner, where he will lead and grow the firm’s global HR practice across executive search, leadership advisory, organizational consulting, and executive communities. “Brad’s experience sits at the intersection of executive search, leadership advisory, and technology — exactly where the future of talent strategy is headed,” said Mark Oppenheimer, CEO of Modern Executive Solutions. “He understands what today’s leaders are navigating and brings both strategic insight and practical execution.”

“We are thrilled to welcome him to Modern and excited about the value he will deliver to our clients,” Mr. Oppenheimer said. “This addition reinforces Modern’s commitment to helping organizations hire, develop, and align leaders who drive performance, transformation, and long-term growth.”

“Brad brings deep experience advising CEOs and CHROs, along with a strong background in executive search, leadership advisory and executive communities,” Mr. Oppenheimer continued. “His perspective and relationships in the CHRO space will be a great asset as we continue to grow our work with senior leaders and their teams. Brad is a terrific person and leader whose style aligns naturally with the collaborative culture we’re building at Modern. I’m looking forward to the impact he’ll make with our clients and across Modern.”

Mr. Pugh advises CEOs and CHROs on hiring world-class leaders, building high-performing teams, accelerating talent, and planning for succession. Known for his thought leadership in talent strategy, business transformation, career planning, and the use of artificial intelligence in HR, he brings deep cross-sector experience spanning technology, consumer, healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing. Throughout his career, Mr. Pugh has founded and scaled technology companies and held leadership roles at Gartner / CEB, World 50, and Russell Reynolds Associates.

Mr. Oppenheimer launched Modern Executive Solutions in 2021. He co-founded the search outfit with his wife, Michelle Domanico, who serves as chief financial officer. Modern’s purpose, according to Mr. Oppenheimer – who serves as chief executive – is to improve “diverse representation within leadership teams.” The firm has spent months collecting, tracking, and analyzing feedback from hundreds of C-level executives before launching recently.

Modern bills itself as “an innovative executive search and integrated advisory solutions firm,” underpinned with market intelligence and assessment capabilities – strong points of Mr. Oppenheimer’s while serving in various leadership capacities at Marlin Hawk over a 12-year career with the London-based recruitment provider. As he did with Marlin Hawk, Mr. Oppenheimer addresses client talent needs with a customizable service approach. “We are determined to set a new benchmark for the search industry,” he said.

Modern offers executive search, ‘nouvelle’ assessment – a proprietary methodology designed by the firm that delves into a leader’s personality, motivators, and leadership style to investigate cultural alignment, potential, and a leader’s ability to succeed in new organizations or more complex roles; talent pipelining; succession planning; and executive research.

Recent Launch

Modern’s M1, an executive network of large company CHROs, recently launched the M1 Talent Community, an executive network that will be a community of major company talent leaders. “In today’s era of disruption and instability, talent leaders can’t navigate these challenges alone,” said Mr. Oppenheimer. “The M1 Talent Community provides both the peer-to-peer learning and collective wisdom essential for building future-ready executives and the bold leadership needed in today’s complex landscape.”

The new talent community is modeled after Modern’s M1 CHRO Community, a membership network of big company CHROs, which has grown to more than 375 members from more than 25 countries leading companies that average 75,000 employees each since its launch in October 2024.

“Having founded multiple executive communities, I know that the most impactful talent leaders learn from true peers facing similar challenges at scale,” said Rick Smith, general manager and co-founder of M1. Mr. Smith was previously a founder of the global senior executive community World 50 and ONYX, a forum for current and former Fortune 500 CEOs. “I’m more excited than ever about the innovative platform we’re building,” he said.

“I have been bringing world-class senior executives together around the world for a decade with more than 400 in-person meetings,” said Larry Emond, a senior partner at Modern Executive Solutions who leads community engagement and is a co-founder of M1. Previously an executive at Gallup, Mr. Emond convened CHROs for executive roundtables for years before M1’s launch last year.

“I’ve seen how powerful peer relationships become for both executive development and personal growth,” Mr. Emond said. “This new talent community extends that opportunity for genuine connection and strategic learning to a broader network of talent leaders.”
