The Medicus Firm Establishes Executive Search Division

January 5, 2018 – The Medicus Firm, which specializes in permanent placement of physicians, including physician executives, clinical practice and clinical faculty physicians, has created a physician executive recruiting division.

The firm has conducted physician executive level searches for several years on a smaller scale, which was largely driven by established clients within the firm’s private practice sector, hospital recruiting and academic divisions. Over the past year, Medicus has made a substantial investment in building the foundation for a division dedicated to identifying and securing talented physician leaders and executives for the firm’s clients nationwide.

Steve Marsh, co-founder of Medicus, said his business is well prepared to meet the growing need for such a service. “Physician executive roles are expanding rapidly in healthcare,” he said. “The new division is equipped with the resources and the talent to conduct a variety of searches including chairs & chiefs for academic departments/divisions, chief medical officers, chief quality officers, chief medical information officers, service line medical directors, among numerous other physician leadership roles. Physician executive searches require identification of unique soft skillsets and culture fit, making sure our physician executive candidates are truly the kind of leaders our clients need to fit their organization’s leadership team.”

Mr. Marsh, who will lead the new division, said his firm is adding decades of experience to its executive recruiting ranks, and that it has attracted some of the most tenured executive recruiters to its team. “We plan to grow this division in the same manner we grew our clinical recruiting business, by providing unrivaled results, and helping our clients hire,” he said.

The Medicus Firm is a permanent physician, physician executive and advanced practice provider recruitment firm with locations in Dallas, Atlanta and Boston. The firm serves academic institutions, university systems, not-for-profit and for-profit hospitals and private physician groups nationwide.

Mr. Marsh began his career in physician recruitment in 1992. He has represented and completed hundreds of physician and physician executive searches throughout the U.S. for a wide variety of clients. His specialties include: physician leadership searches, academic physician recruitment, structuring physician and physician executive compensation, negotiating contracts, positioning physician practices appropriately, and leadership of recruiting and business development teams.
