McCormick Group Leads CEO Search for Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce

May 31, 2018 – The McCormick Group, an Arlington, VA-based executive recruitment firm, has been selected by the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce to spearhead the search for its next president and CEO. Jim Corcoran, who has led the organization since 2010, will be leaving the chamber by July. Leading the assignment for the McCormick Group are senior vice president Lyles Carr, managing principal Elizabeth Humphrey and principal Susy Howard.
A search committee consisting of Northern Virginia Chamber board leadership chose the McCormick Group after issuing a request for proposal and interviewing a number of firms. “The McCormick Group has superior knowledge of Northern Virginia and the Greater Washington region, as well as the industries and businesses that drive its economy,” said the chamber.
Kathy Albarado, CEO of Helios HR, chamber executive committee member and chair of the chamber search committee, said that the Northern Virginia Chamber board of directors and search committee understand the importance of a thorough and thoughtful search process. “With the expertise of The McCormick Group, we are confident that this process will yield the best possible candidate for the chamber’s next leader,” she said.
Over the next several weeks, the McCormick team will work with the chamber’s search committee, board, staff and related external stakeholders to fully understand the organization’s vision and mission beyond the 2015-2018 strategic plan and what the incoming leader must accomplish for the chamber to achieve its goals. The search committee is targeting the third quarter of this year to hire and onboard its next CEO.
