McCormack+Kristel Seeking Board Directors for The Partnership To End Homelessness

May 7, 2026 – The Partnership To End Homelessness recently retained McCormack+Kristel to lead in its search for new board directors. “We are thrilled to partner with The Partnership To End Homelessness to grow its board of directors,” McCormack+Kristel said in a LinkedIn post. “The partnership’s mission, to end homelessness by preventing it, is advanced through an upstream intervention model that combines housing assistance and crisis services with mental and education programming to solve homelessness before it happens. We are seeking committed individuals to join the board of directors of this innovative organization that is challenging the traditional crisis-response approach to homelessness and proving that prevention works.”

The Partnership To End Homelessness invites committed individuals to join the board of directors of an innovative organization that is challenging the traditional crisis-response approach to homelessness and proving that prevention works. This is an extraordinary opportunity for passionate professionals energized about the upstream prevention approach to be part of an organization that is doing things differently.

Members of the board of directors are enthusiastic ambassadors for the organization’s mission to end homelessness by preventing it. Comprised of committed individuals with diverse professional experiences, the board ensures the strategy and governance of The Partnership and assists in securing the necessary resources to accomplish the organization’s goals.

Board members are elected for three-year terms and can serve up to three terms. They provide participation in four 90-minute board meetings per year as well as in at least one board committee. Committees meet two to four times a year.

To meet the fundraising commitment, The Partnership’s Development team supports each board member in developing an individual strategy tailored to their unique situation and approach. Strategies utilize a combination of approaches such as:

  • Securing contributions from institutions: corporate entities (including matching gift programs and sponsorships), foundations, and houses of worship;
  • Securing contributions from individuals: extended professional networks, friends, and associates, and/or through a crowdfunding peer-to-peer campaign.
  • Pro bono services the organization would otherwise pay for; and/or personal contributions.

The Partnership To End Homelessness is a New York City–based non-profit organization focused on homelessness prevention, housing stability, and support services for vulnerable individuals and families. Founded in 1989, the organization works to help New Yorkers remain housed through rental assistance, crisis intervention, case management, and related support programs aimed at preventing shelter entry and long-term homelessness. The Partnership To End Homelessness generates approximately $3.3 million in annual revenue through a combination of individual donations, foundation support, and government funding.

McCormack+Kristel was started in 1993 as McCormack & Associates with the mission of recruiting senior leadership for the many research, advocacy and human services organizations growing exponentially in response to the AIDS pandemic. Diversity recruiting has long been on the firm’s agenda.

With the advent of effective treatments for HIV/AIDS, and the diminishing needs of many of these organizations, the firm broadened its client base into areas like social justice; healthcare; women’s issues; higher education; gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender; civil rights; and more.

Five years ago, founding partner Joseph A. McCormack formed a new business partnership with Michelle Kristel, who joined the firm in 2013 as an associate. The firm has offices in New York City and Palm Springs, CA. McCormack+Kristel clients have included the ACLU, the Los Angeles LGBT Center, TransForm, Planned Parenthood, SAGE, and the Tides Foundation, among others.

In 2022, Mr. McCormack retired. Ms. Kristel continues to run the firm’s national practice. She is the former executive director of In The Life Media (ITLM), a non-profit organization producing social change media to raise awareness of issues related to gender, HIV/AIDS, and LGBT rights.

Independent Film & Television Alliance Search

McCormack+Kristel has placed Jackie Brenneman as president and CEO of the Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA). She succeeds Jean Prewitt, who is stepping down at the end of the month after 25 years leading the organization. “Jackie brings industry insight, legal and lobbying expertise, and a proven record of guiding complex membership organizations,” said Paul Bales, chairperson, IFTA and partner and COO of The Asylum. “Her deep appreciation of how business, public affairs, and creative communities intersect, and her experience navigating the fast pace of evolution in our industry and the challenges it presents, especially for independent companies, make her uniquely qualified to lead IFTA into their next chapter. We look forward to working closely with her.”

Ms. Brenneman joins IFTA with a career spanning organizational leadership, government relations, legal practice, and nonprofit oversight. She spent nearly a decade at NATO, rising through the organization to executive vice president and general counsel, where she served as a strategic leader for the exhibition community and the organization’s membership during periods of significant change and disruption.
