Jobplex Appoints Partners
January 20, 2023 – Jobplex, the Chicago-based partner company of DHR Global, has named Jeff Mercer and John McDonald as its newest partners.
Mr. Mercer becomes a partner in the industrial practice group. He is based out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He brings 20 years of experience in operations, sales, business development, and managerial roles. Mr. Mercer focuses on building relationships with clients and sourcing top talent for their executive teams. With a deep understanding of the corporate services and operations within oil and gas, professional services, real estate, construction and non-profit, he has recruited leaders for roles including C-level, vice presidents, general managers, and directors.
“Jeff has a very strong executive search background and will be a natural leader in our Calgary office,” said Justin Hirsch, CEO of Jobplex. “His relationships in Vancouver and British Columbia will enhance our cross-border relations while continuing to strengthen Jobplex’s presence in Canada. Previously, Mr. Mercer was principal at privately held executive search firm Aplin. While there, he led searches for senior-level management professionals throughout Canada. Mr. Mercer is also a mentor and uses his expertise as a former professional hockey player by coaching minor league hockey.
Mr. McDonald becomes a partner in the advanced technology, financial services, and diversity practice groups. He serves clients ranging from emerging growth companies to the world’s premier public technology corporations. Mr. McDonald has completed assignments at Microsoft for corporate vice president, vice presidents, general managers and senior directors with functional focuses in emerging technologies, software, and hardware.

Jobplex Appoints CEO and HR Practice Group Leader
Jobplex named Justin Hirsch as chief executive officer and human resources practice group leader. “Justin has been instrumental to the establishment of Jobplex as the emerging leader search firm of choice,” said Geoff Hoffmann, CEO of DHR Global. “He’s successfully evolved the brand, built awareness, brought credibility, developed the team, and grown the business through exceptional client service and sharp business insights. We’re honored to have him on our team.” Mr. Hirsch previously served as president and HR executive search lead and has driven the firm’s growth for the past 10 years. The firm says that he continues in this capacity in an elevated role to guide Jobplex into the future.
Prior to starting his career in executive search, Mr. McDonald spent more than 20 years in financial services solving business problems for senior executives. He was previously a vice president at Morgan Stanley with functional experience in capital markets, asset management, alternative investments, and trading.
