JDG Associates Seeking Executive Director for the National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology
August 31, 2026 – Rockville, MD-based executive search firm JDG Associates was recently selected by the National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology (NCART) to lead its search for a new executive director. The position is remote and may be based anywhere in the United States, with proximity to the Washington, D.C. area considered a plus.
NCART stands at a pivotal moment, with active, high-stakes policy fights underway and a clear mandate to become an even more effective voice for the CRT community. Reporting to the president of the executive committee and board of directors, the executive director will provide strategic leadership, direct advocacy and government affairs activities, cultivate stakeholder relationships, oversee organizational operations, and serve as the Association’s primary spokesperson.
The role calls for moving NCART’s advocacy from a reactive to a proactive posture, building grassroots relationships across the states, and uniting a diverse membership of providers, manufacturers, clinicians, and consumer partners behind a shared agenda.
NCART seeks a strategic, collaborative, and mission-driven leader with a proven record influencing public policy and legislative or regulatory outcomes at the federal and multi-state levels. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated strength in relationship building and consensus building across diverse stakeholder groups, experience leading or working within a non-profit association or trade association, and financial management skills suited to a lean operating budget. Experience within healthcare, rehabilitation, disability services, or medical technology is strongly preferred, though candidates from adjacent sectors with a genuine commitment to the mission will also be considered.
NCART is a national membership association representing the suppliers and manufacturers of Complex Rehab Technology (CRT), the individually configured wheelchairs, seating, and positioning systems that people with significant disabilities rely on for mobility, independence, and quality of life. Through federal and state advocacy, coalition building, and policy leadership, NCART works to protect and expand access to this essential technology and to strengthen the long-term viability of the industry that provides it.

Serving as a corporate officer and member of IDA’s senior leadership team, the new VP will lead a total staff of 180 as well as directly supervise and provide policy guidance to the chief information officer, chief human resources officer, chief communications officer, and the head of corporate real estate. The role will reduce indirect costs, strengthen operational resilience, and position IDA for continued growth and mission success.
The next VP must be a change agent who can challenge legacy practices, lead complex enterprise-wide initiatives, and leverage emerging technology, including AI, while building a culture of continuous improvement and maintaining compliance, security, and operational excellence.
